Lane Hall, originally known as Barracks No. 1, contains offices for disciplines in the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences. It is the centerpiece building of the Upper Quad.
Stop and soak in the history. Lane Hall, built in 1888, is the oldest academic building still in use on campus.
Look closely. Lane has hundreds of signatures scratched into its bricks and mortar by the Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets. Some of those etchings date back more than 100 years.
Use the back hallway to navigate between bays.
