One of the few places within the Loop that you can put your feet in the sand (really). Come on the weekends and listen to some live music while browsing the local vendors. Decent mexican food, too!

This place isn't easy to find, tucked into the warehouse district north of downtown, so if our map doesn’t do it for you, check the restaurant’s Web site for more precise instructions. It’s worth it.

This place is an experience. Gotta check out the patio- I'll just say smoking is allowed. On Monday's they have the looooongest Happy Hour ever (according to them)!

Has become a venue for local musicians performing original songs. This eclectic Tex-Mex Cafe is a favorite haunt for local artists and the occasional celebrity.

Food - breakfast tacos to oatmeal pancakes, to croissant french toast with bananas foster. I had the migas and some hummus, and it was mediocre. But good for bar food.

I love this place. It's a hippy-like throw-back to a Houston that was way before my time. You expect Jerry Garcia to walk through the door at any moment (except he's dead).
