One of the best places here on downtown, really good food. The lamb rack is fantastic and the Atlantic Salmon is a feast as well. Great service and nice wine selection.

An SF gem with lovely service and great bistro staples. I always get the steak au poivre or the filet mignon, but you can't go wrong with the cassoulet which has been cooking since the day it opened.

Wondered in here entirely by chance. First impression is the staff doesn't like you but it's all a facade. Nice people serving good food. Had the lunch pre-fix and the escargot. Both were delicious!

Come for a cozy happy hour at the bar. Decent wines and well drinks for $5. Also: smoked salmon deviled eggs.

Herb Caen would lunch here every Friday at 1:11 PM, with Wilkes Bashford, Willie Brown, Harry de Wildt, and Matthew Kelly. According to Wilkes - get the escargot; they do it right here. Read more

Oldest French Bistro in San Francisco. Try the Pomme Frites, Escargot, Steak Tartare, and Cassoulet. All great food with the classic SF feel.

On their menu they have a light salmon salad, perfect with the Earl Grey iced tea

The steak tartrate is great. Stay away from the prawns tho. Also the staff doesn't seem very friendly.

If you ask nicely about the cassoulet, sometimes they give you a free sample.

Worst service ever. The staff treated us like utter shit for no apparent reason.
