Vietnamese fusion takes you to a far away place & time during 1920's French colonial Vietnam. Private Parties, Corporate Events, Cocktail Lounge, Live Music every weeknight...
One of my top ten favorite restaurants in the country. One bite of the Thit Kho Nuoc Dua (Coconut Water Braised Pork Shoulder) or the Bo Bit Tet (Grilled Ribeye) and you’ll know why!
Skip the formal dining and head upstairs to the lounge. Comfortable seating with a full menu, excellent service, and live jazz. Try the braised brussel sprouts or anything with crab.
Upstairs is where it's at. And if you like tequila and spicy things, order a Pura Vida - You will not be disappointed. For food, the Brussels sprouts are killer. Favorite bartenders: Moses & Phil.
No cover on Fridays before 11 pm. Great music on Friday and Saturday nights. Starts with mainstream hip-hop and Top 40 stuff and typically moves into the 80s after 12-12:30 am.
The food is excellent! Try the lamb chops. Do not miss the Brussels sprouts! For dessert try the Sour cake with coconut sauce. One of the best food I have had!
If you don't mind paying a cover, rude svc. and waiting in line so they can make the place look popular (yes, even if you and your friends have a table). I recommend Slide around the corner over this
Everything we had was amazing, esp the brussel sprouts, duck spring rolls and fried rice. Really flavorful food and a unique ambience. Would go there again and again
Pork belly, excellent! Also very good green papaya salad, the filet mignon, which seems to be everyone favorite's, lacked of flavour. The best: brussel sprouts!
Had the spring rolls, lamb chops and brussel sprouts. All were some of the best dishes I've had, anywhere. I highly recommend you try as much as you can.
Excellent little spotted tucked into an alley. Get a bunch of rolls and the appetizer sampler to share, the small bites were better than the mains
Lemongrass Chicken two ways: roasted breast and sautéed thigh meat with spring onions, rainbow chard in coconut cream.
Don't forget to check out the lounge upstairs. Also avoid the filet mignon and the sea bass and go spicier stuff
Lemongrass chicken two ways: roasted breast and sautéed thigh meat with spring onions, rainbow chard in coconut cream
The live music on Mondays is a delight. You're instantly transported back the 1920s. The crispy duck rolls and seaboards entree are delicious
For vegetarians: canh chua chay (veg pho), bo bia chay (fresh spring rolls w peanut sauce) and xu bruxelles (brussels sprouts)
Loved the spring rolls, papaya salad, and the crepe. If you've got room, I loved the lemon cake - not too tart, just very refreshing.
Banh Xeo, Bo Luc Lac, and seabass wrapped in banana leaf was delicious. Beautiful restaurant for a special occasion.
Live gypsy jazz upstairs on Mondays from 7p to 10p. Not a Lindy Hop venue but the band and bartender really like dancers.
The duck spring rolls are super yummy! Brunch on Sunday is very nice, particularly if you are able to sit outside. :)
Le Colonial has live Jazz music every weekday from Monday to Thursday 7PM to 10PM in the upstairs Lounge Bar
Get the filet mignon and flourless Vietnamese coffee-infused chocolate cake; Le Colonial was my favorite cocktail
Try pork belly appetizer (3,4 pieces) and filet mignon blocks. Very delish.
It's hidden in the middle of Cosmo Alley, just look for their neon blue name above the street.
Love theit filet mignon dish - so tender and flavorful - I could have it every night!
come every Wednesday to hear the Cosmo Alleycats! Their lead singer Emily Adams is amazing!
Vietnamese bouillabaisse...amazing. Great ambiance.
Brussel sprouts and lamb chops were a fantastic combo. Great food!
Get the lamb chops! And the Brussels sprouts appetizer -- amazing
A hidden gem in downtown SF, cozy up with a good drink and enjoy your night.
Cocktails are amazing. Tropical drinks with real fruit juice. Brussel sprouts and shrimp fried rice are required sides.
Signature drink and lemon panna cotta are worth dying for.
Nice lounge area to enjoy the Martini Brothers during week nights.
Amazing rib appetizer, great take on fillet mignon
Hot spot for dancing. Food is also delicious, but a bit pricey.
Definitely a cover charge on weekends, but good drinks and dancing.
Delicious duck breast. A lovely off the beaten track venue.
Not just Vietnamese, but French Vietnamese! Fabulous!
Pricey but good date spot. The duck is delicious.
Every Monday night 'Le Jazz Hot' plays in the lounge. Really excellent 1930's Gypsy Jazz.
Save room for dessert. Flour less chocolate is a must!
A fusion restaurant that stays true to Vietnamese cuisine.
Try the Stir-fried lobster - Omg - so good!
I asked the waiter for recos and he told me what they didn't have anymore.
apparently there is a cover on Saturdays but I have my doubts... but the music is good!
Friday Nights at Le Colonial with JAM Artist DJs: Dj Slick D, Remeddy, Rich Era, Greg J.
The coconut prawns are AMAZING!
Location of the restaurant is hard to find.
