Friendly service, but sometimes slow. Came for brunch and had a great poached egg dish, the cafe special. Sat in the front because back was closed for a private event -- but looked amazing.

Food was okay but the ambiance in the back made up for it. Service wasn't too good either

Nice decor - great sitting area in the back. Food is very average - more corner diner than french cafe

Found the perfect place to hold jewelry making classes. Such friendly staff and beautiful decor. The atmosphere was perfect, and so were the mango mimosa!

Great for brunch, good dinner too. The back seating area is like a lovely grotto, though it might be too cute for some.

    Will Fleming · October 10, 2014

hair in salad, waitress lost our check, 2 hour brunch with not one refill of water. On top of that, shrimp frittatas used frozen tasteless shrimp, dense pancakes, cold breakfast potatoes. Never again.

A linger-friendly patio garden and extensive coffee and tea menu make this cash-only spot worth staying a while.

Delightful ambiance, flamboyant designs reflecting an esoteric garden, and a menu that offers a succulent variety of food and drinks

Don't let the "cafe" label fool you. Go there for dinner. I find it to be the best kept secret as far as dinner in Brooklyn is concerned. Never a wait and food is delicious.

Have had terrible service every time. Left today after waiting 10 mins for a menu. Ok spot to sit and have coffee and read but pretty lame for anything else.

Been coming here for years and just realized the fresh hippy juices are the sleeper hit. I got some fruity thing called "peace of mind" pineapple, orange, banana, mango, boom.

Lovely cafe, but the service is lacking. My omelet was beautifully cooked and the coffee was pretty good.

Just got up and walked out for lack of service. Half an hour and no coffee. Waitress wouldn't even look at us. Gorgeous environment and beautiful atmosphere though. Too bad!

Big fan of "the small cafe". Iced coffee every Saturday and a stellar arugula salad with avocado, portabella mushroom, and goat cheese. They don't have the same lunch salads at dinner tho... too bad

    Jeff Moy · August 22, 2011

Their iced-coffee is some of the best in the neighborhood. Nice back garden, but i prefer to eat at some of the other neighborhood spots.

It is astonishing how terrible the service is, but the Polenta Breakfast Special is worth it.

$21.95 3 course dinner prix fixe is good deal for the quality and amount of food. For any dessert purist the creme brûlée isn't brûlée but is nice anyway with berries. Cash only. Service spotty.

I did not care for the steak and eggs at all! The potatoes were so stale and bland, really bad, and the steak was tolerable but so little! Don't get the steak and eggs!

Amazing outdoor patio/garden with waterfalls. So relaxing, you feel like you're in a garden in France! Come here if you're sad or if NY is getting the best of you. Petit cafe will perk u up in no time

Poor service, very long wait, average food. Do yourself a favor and walk a few more steps to Buttermilk Channel! AMAZING!
