Mmmmm ... is that descriptive enough for the BBQ? Hushpuppies are super crispy on the outside and prob my favorite item. Skip the fries (even though they are crinkle cut) & go with the onion rings.

When ordering the coarse-chopped BBQ tray, it’s vital to request plenty of "outside brown," the burnished, perfumed crust that forms on the shoulders’ exterior during smoking. Read more

No better Q in Lexington, NC than right here.

Course-chopped BBQ is off the chain! If you are not into big servings, the mini tray is still a good meal.

Coarse chop, outside brown, BBQ slaw. The coarse chop is juicier than the chopped, but the smoke here is 💯

The coarse chopped is amazingly good. I had the chopped sandwich and loved it and snuck a bite of course chopped from my hubby. You really can't go wrong! Next time we will try to add "outside brown"

Get the large chopped tray...."outside brown", hushpuppies, slaw, and sweet tea. If you eat anymore than this, my best to you. Best BBQ I have ever had.....period!

Expect nothing more than slightly sweet, tender pork soaked in the tangy ketchup-and-vinegar-based sauce the region is famous for. One look at its giant smokers out back will verify its authenticity.

This is one of the meccas for Western North Carolina style barbecue. Go for the coarse chopped, and grab another pound to go. Head around back to see the pit and breathe in that delicious smoke.

Worst bbq in Lexington. The meat is always dried out. Many other places nearby that serve better meat and sauce. Don't fall for the hype.
