L'express, a Lyonnaise bouchon, merges the traditional southern and northern influences of French cooking.
The grilled octopus was expertly cooked. The Merguez was amazingly tasty. My steak came in big and thick, and perfectly pink in the center. The Avion tequila shots were generously and smooth as silk.
One of the best cafes in the city all around. Lattes and the paper by day, wine and steak tartare by night, with Croque Monsieurs in the middle. Try to get a table in the nook at this 24-hr gem.
L'Express is the bomb!!! Had egg bennies (deliciosooo) and berry pancakes yesterday. Pancakes were not great at all! soup l'oignon, mushroom ravioli and steak au p'ouivre are one of the best in town!
I've been coming here 24/7 for yrs! Great for the hip vibe & people, late night snack, dessert or drinks. Love frites w/ side of peppercorn sauce & vanilla creme brûlée w/ a side of raspberry purée!
Open 24/7 with a focus on food from Lyon, France. The grilled octopus appetizer is delicious. Roasted pork and herb sausage, steak au poivre, burgers and skirt frites are all good.
The waiter at lunch yesterday threw me a curve, in front of my visiting guest, by saying "how much change do you need back, $10?". His stunt resulted in an extra $2 tip, and I left with that icky fee
Whether it's breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, or 2 a.m...L'Express is open 24-hours! Residents of the building upstairs, 8 Gramercy, can get keys to the nearby private Gramercy Park.
They make their martinis with fresh grapefruit juice - Kettle with a splash of fresh grapefruit juice is quite delicious. Their mushroom ravioli is exceptional - I have had it 10+ times lol.
I was expecting a little more overall. The food was fine the atmosphere was just Ok. A good place to go for a quick brunch if you're starving. Not going to blow you away but gets the job done.
always open NEVER closed!.. always if you are hungover, especially if need to eat for a while, good variety of cuisine, love the onion soup!-- of course very Frenchy decor!
honestly a lifesaver being open 24/7, saved me from sleeping on the streets and fed me snacks and coffee suitable for a 24/7 joint, highly recommended after 2am
The food is great; the restrooms are not. For dessert, almond tart w/ honey is highly recommended! For food, I quite enjoyed the salmon w/ spinach and fries.
The crab cakes are FORGET ABOUT IT!!! I get it with their lovely Sancerre. The service is wonderful. The place is wonderful. Perfect place to go for lunch.
If eating here late night I highly recommend the Escargots à la Bourguignonne (Snails in Garlic–Herb Butter) - with the lamb burger (and goat cheese).
Great brunch. Omelette is hearty & fillings are plentiful. Honey Almond Tarte a la mode is also a must.
This 24/7 French diner is a fun place to go if you need a bite late night. Burgers are always safe here and prices are semi-reasonable.
For late-nite dining, try the escargot, the steak tartare, the warm goat cheese salad, the lamb burger with goat cheese, or the salmon.
L'Express offers a quick lunch for those on a tight schedule. Skip the Onion Gratinee, though, which comes doused in gruyere cheese.
Large portions big enough to share. Make sure to get a seat by the full length windows in the summer for a breeze and people watching.
Great value French cafe. Straightforward classic dishes. Lots of nice half bottles of wine if you're feeling 350ml.
The cafe au lait is fantastic, the chicken sandwich (believe it or not) is amazing, and the escargot is divine. Open 24 hours!
The food is not bad. It comes out quickly. But, on a busy day, they may forget about you when you're trying to get the check.
Come here for any meal at any time of the day. It's that fantastic. For brunch, order the croque madame with a side plate of bacon.
The large indoor space makes it excellent for groups. Good food and good prices. Plus, they're open 24/7.
The half roasted chicken is DELICIOUS. Mark my words. Substitute the fries for the mashed potatoes and you will be in heaven!
best all night French spot I've been to. lamb burger and escargot are biggest winners. solid drinks too.
Mussles and escorgo were amazinly good. Nice surprise. Service is pretty bad at 5am though because they are so packed I guess.
Croissant Sandwich. Sub Egg whites. Bacon on a side plate (for the homies). Sub fries for side salad. The perfect vice.
Order the lamb burger (with goat cheese) and a glass of red wine. Post how much you love me in the morning.
The mocha is good, but be warned: the cup has no handles, and they apparently heat it up on the surface of the sun
Little cozy cafe in NoLiTa. A mix between french and arab (perhaps argelian). Good hummus. Not great though.
This my first time here and the atmosphere was great. As well as the food. Gotta come back here!
If you haven't done so, you have to visit this place late night. The best place to head after a night out. Trust me!
24 hour spot - another great place after a night of drinking. The Croque Monsieur is a must
Great Meal, at ANY time of day. Had the ravioli which was okay, but the lamb was surprisingly good.
French onion soup was delicious. The croque Madame looked good, although I didn't order that!
The onion soup is insanely amazing, the atmosphere is cozy, and the service is fantastic.
Reasonably priced French cuisine. Get the steak tartar and wilted garlic spinach.
All the tips point to the Lamb Burger for a reason -- it's really f'ing good!
For breakfast take Eggs Copenhagen!! It's Benedict with Salmon and it's perfect.
Great Lamb burger but don't end up there at 6 am or breakfast. Not such a great menu.
The daily lunch specials can be a good alternative to an otherwise unadventurous menu.
The place is nice but the food is pretty bland. Not a big selection, default cafe food I guess.
My default late night go-to spot! Best escargot in NYC, and get the Cafe Ole (not at the same moment)
