This zany science museum is home to the first Hoberman sphere. Though geared toward littles (the calendar is packed with interactive learning events), it brings out the childish nerd in any adult.
The Curious George exhibit is great for kids.

Over a decade ago, the US Department of Energy installed a wind turbine at LSC to demonstrate the feasibility of using wind as a source of energy in urban areas. Check it out from the 4th floor deck.
Watched the turtle go go go for about 10 minutes! Animals are amazing :) first time going there, deff going back :)
Do NOT do the interactive movie. A DVD movie carried to a classroom(theater) and played for you to watch a child's movie. The most interaction you get is putting the seat down to sit.

Membership is great. After a visit it two, it's paid for & makes it easy to bring a friend or if family is visiting.
Great for kids. Interactive, with mini zoo, never crowded.

Great place to take kids for a fun, indoor and educational experience. You can have a kids bday party here also ... we went to one ... big party room.

O yea. Just remebered... It was a field trip. We went into the touch tunnel and a girl from class got kicked in the eye. Lol.
I went here as a child and I thought it was awesome. Will definitly take my kids when they are ready. (Born and raised.)
The camp-ins are fun!
Weekdays are best - weekends are crowded. Place is huge though, plenty to do either way.
Why had I never been there before? We took our 5 1/2 year old and he loved it. I even learned some things.
Avoid lunch at peak time.
So much to see and do... Get there early!
An excellent place for kids to run around and learn about science. Great views of Lower Manhattan are an added plus.
Definitely take the time to watch an IMAX or 3D movie, but check show times before you come; they're different weekend vs weekday.

$7 parking even for members since lot is not owned by the center.. But overall, a good value for the kids! Plenty of fun learning. Place is huge!
Long lines and big crowds on rainy days. You can skip the line by buying tix on your phone and pick them up at the welcome counter IF you can navigate their mobile site.
Show up a half hour before you want to actually get in. It takes that long to buy tickets.
