The food is expensive, so if you're planning a mainland trip, I suggest buying at fish express before getting to the airport.

Hawaiian Airlines have horrible service. Get here early. Baggage check is a cluster, staff incompetent, security line single file.

I have a suggestion for efficiency, TAKE OUT YOUR LAPTOP AND ALL TOILETRIES FROM YOUR BAG WHEN THE OFFICERS ASK YOU TO DO IT!!! Now there's a good tip!!!

Definitely get here early. We were a few hours early and it wouldn't have hurt to come even earlier. The single line does not help with efficiency.

The diner here is actually pretty good. Ramen is great and we haven't gone wrong with their specials. For airport food it is above average!

Checking in is a little crazy here. So if you are looking at the airport, go ALL the way down to your right and there won't be hardly any line at all.

No wifi. At all. No hotspots either. So get your fix at Starbucks in Lihue instead.
