With free admission every day of the year, the Lincoln Park Zoo is a beloved Chicago institution. There’s a lot to see in the 35-acre park.
Best free zoo in the country, and maybe even better than a lot of paid ones
Walk right in and meet some animals up close and personal. 🐯 (Layout is a little wonky - we went around in circles looking for giraffes.)
It's a zoo! In the middle of a park! In the middle of a city! And it's FREE. There are two mold-a-rama machines, one in the barn on the farm, the other in the small primate house.

I love this zoo! The fact that it's free admission does not make it any less fun and interesting.
Can't go wrong with a free zoo (check out the conservatory, lily pool, and of course the beach nearby to extend your experience with some other great free attractions).
Free zoo! Awesome! Beautiful park to wander through and enjoy the exhibits.
Free! Also, great view of downtown Chicago.
The monkeys are absolutely THE most adorable.
Pretty solid, especially for a free zoo.
Time to see the Monkeys!

Check out the information desk to get a map. The people there are very friendly and will let you know about different events taking place in the zoo that day.
Can't beat free. Perfect zoo to stroll in and out of, whether you have an hour or all day.
Love it on Weekdays
Stay away from the cafeteria. Overpriced and inedible.
Check out the otters.
Smaller zoo, but it's free and there is a great view of the skyline from the park entrance.
The baby apes!
Free zoo. Great apes.
A must when visiting Chicago. Free and a nice walk from the city centre along the lake shore. An great asset to the city.
Awesome zoo! Free & relatively empty today (though the kids are back to school and it's a Tuesday). Don't forget the farm & nearby Conservatory (free as well)!
A lot of construction this year. Japanese macaque area & polar bear overhaul. Parking is $9 for members (otherwise it can run up to $35). Check out the Nature Boardwalk next to the farm-in-a-zoo!
Sections under construction, made navigating more difficult this visit. Went to Children's section, that was cool!
