Great speak easy spot in the west village. The live jazz band on sundays plays classics. Solid whiskey sour #jazznostalgia

Minka Monica Li · February 17

Takes 3 days of slow freezing in a $6k Clinebell machine to make the crystal clear ice here, 2 hours of prep for the ice alone goes into each shift. Respect!

Amazing cocktails. A great place that I keep coming back. Just perfect!

The line is definitely worth it - I would trust these bartenders with anything. They always make the perfect drink for my mood and tastes. Stellar hang out for a young, affluent crowd

I just tell the bartender what I like and they typically whip up something ridiculously good. Small space so can get really crowded.

It's a super intimate, darkly lit, great place to bring a date. As long the bartender knows your drink preferences, it's very, very difficult to go wrong with the bartender's choice.

Nice to go to, but too troublesome to be a regular deal. But trust the bartenders, and admire their ice carving abilities!

    Brian Karfunkel · January 19
  • Tavonna M.

They had pretty great drinks and a jazz trio!

    Tavonna Miller · January 19

Arguably the best old fashioned in NYC.

    Chet Mancini · January 17

Come on a weekday, not too late, and snag a table. Bring lots of cash and let the night slip into a hazy, jazz filled euphoria. Tell your boss you'll be a bit late in the morning.

    Ryan Ambs · January 14

No longer serve spherical ice balls but still makes a good old fashioned. Limited in whiskey selections.

    Dayan Zhu · January 4

Great upscale bar with amazing drinks. Had live jazz when I went. Speakeasy vibe, fairly small.

Cash only and very awkward space. Luckily the cocktails are excellent and if you can grab the booth by the piano - don't leave.

Feels like a 1920 bar in a basement. Little branch was excellent a couple years ago, but quality of drinks has gone down recently... If you want SERIOUS good cocktails, try milk & honey (same owner)!

This hard to find dimly lit joint has live music and great service. They make a mean death in the afternoon and an amazing sazerac. If you can't decide, tell the bartender some ingredients and he'll

    Nikolas Floros · October 13, 2014

Super strong Old Fashioned. Super pricey, too, for a cash-only venue...

    Andrew Litvak · October 12, 2014
  • Meg F.

Super hip little speakeasy with legit cocktails (bartenders know what they're doing). though has been discovered in the last year and can have a line to get in.

Always packed and might not be super comfortable/spacious, but the bartenders are great and know their drinks. Just tell them what tastes you like and they'll put an amazing drink together for you.
