Great cocktails here. Let the bartender know what you like and they’ll create a cocktail designed for you. Look for the door at the corner with no sign on the SW corner of 7th Ave South and Leroy.

This hard to find dimly lit joint has live music and great service. They make a mean death in the afternoon and an amazing sazerac. If you can't decide, tell the bartender some ingredients and he'll

This is a bar for grown-ups. The music is subdued, the crowd is well-dressed and well-behaved, the staff is polite, the original drinks are masterfully crafted by the mixologists behind the counter.

One of my #dipsology top 100. Great spot with milk and honey drinks but you don't have to reserve and the scene is a bit more open/fun. Live jazz Sunday-Thursday. (4 of 4 petals via Fondu) Read more

Feels like a 1920 bar in a basement. Little branch was excellent a couple years ago, but quality of drinks has gone down recently... If you want SERIOUS good cocktails, try milk & honey (same owner)!

underground speakeasy behind a nondescript door, they make their own ginger beer which is *spicy* & delicious! once was told by an employee that they were the inspiration for bourbon and branch in SF.

Great small Mexican food spot, right off the 1 train. Guacamole was okay, definitely get the margarita especial and the shrimp and pineapple quesadilla. Don't forget to try to spicy chips and salsas

Fun place to go for a subterranean, speakeasy experience. Dim lighting, cozy booths, and live jazz provide for an intimate setting. Great bartenders serving a variety of cocktails. Cash only.

Great libations- in either booths or bar. Sam the mix master serv perfect complimentary cocktails to the down-tempo live jazz. Be sure to tell him of your likes when ordering the bartender's choice..

Finding this underground speakeasy in the West Village is half the battle, but you'll be rewarded with excellent cocktails, such as the Bee's Knees. Ask for the Bartender's Choice if unsure.

Felt like I was in an old 1920s movie, especially when I sighted the old type-cash register! Ordered the Bartender's Choice and got a delicious Blackberry Gold Rush out of the deal. Cash only!

I have two favorite things about this place: the tightly squeezed in jazz trio and the custom made piece of ice for each drink. I don't like the queue that builds outside the door, it's an eyesore.

Try the following: Monte Carlo - manly rancher whiskey drink, Kentucky Maid - slightly more fruity whiskey drink, fernet branca and applejack thing (forget the name), stay up late (gin and cognac)

This is my go to cocktail spot for when I have visitors to entertain from out of town. It's super cozy with great music that's quiet enough for you to hold a conversation.

Great ambience, but show me some innovation. I don't innovate, hence I come to you. When I come to a cocktail lounge/ speakeasy, I'm not here to tell you what i like; I expect interesting creations.

Nice location, decent ambiance. After descending the stairs, you look around expecting more but find less. The live music rescues the semi-anticlimactic experience. It's alright, but have a Plan B.

Many old rules apply in this place: No misbehaving, no loud and boisterous behaviour. If you are not sure what you want, name a liquor you enjoy, and they'll give you a list of what they can make.

Come when there's live music, because the drinks are $14 and for that kind of money I shouldn't be seeing college kids dressed in their Hollister pajamas. Cocktails are obviously amazing here.

Perhaps it was just the moment, but Little Branch was far-off the standards set by other NYC mixology peers. Poor service, a cocktail menu mostly of standards, and a damp room. Many better options.

There are plenty better speakeasies in the city, especially in this area. This is a glorified basement with top shelf booze. Mixology is 7/10th's of the way there, setting isn't.

The perfect after date drink place in the lower west. Order the "Fair and Day" (off menu) - a rum based revelation haha. Or something a little sweet, try their "Dominicana."
