The water fountain wasn't working but the pub in the park provided water freely at the bar, enough to fill my large water bottle

Gearing up for 'Hackney's biggest ever wildflower meadow' in the summer 2013, so a large chunk near Broadway Market is fenced off until July.

As mentioned countless times before, this is hipster-ville at its finest. But it's not bad - the grass if often worn down & muddy/dusty (depending on the weather!) so arrive early to stake your spot!

Good weather and BBQ make London Fields the right place!

Dust off your fixie, wax your ironic moustache and raid your dad's wardrobe. This here is Hipster Country. During summer don't forget your disposable BBQ and a few cans of Red Stripe.

    Stuart Cruickshank · February 18, 2013
  • Chris B.

Middle class hipsters has pretty much ruined this park. During the summer, expect drunken rude Hoxton types, burnt grass and puke everywhere.

The BBQ area is in the South-West corner...otherwise be prepared to have your BBQ escorted away by the official BBQ police! :D

When not invaded by the trendy set over the weekend, it's a great local park with a paddling pool, the London Fields Lido, tennis courts, two children's play parks, and a table tennis table.
