Awesome dive bar dating back to the 40s. I found this little gem on Supper: http://supper.mx/places/longbranch-inn-austin/
Low key environment. Cool decor.
Best bar on the east side. Barr none.
Hey! Hours m-f 4-2 am and fri and sat from 6-2 am.
This place is heavy. Decorations of stuffed animals (not that kind,) skulls, devil heads, thorny hearts, old furniture, & drapes where men with chainsaws hide behind. (No, seriously.) Creepyyyyy.
Just down the street from Franklin Barbecue and Hillside Farmacy, another of Austin's good divey options.
Kevin and Stephanie rock. Come visit the owners. They will treat you right.
Great chilled out pub with some excellent taxidermy cats above the bar.
Love the Longbranch. Very chill, classic atmosphere. My favorite bar in Austin.
Please pickup your trash outside

Mixing contemporary with the classic, this lounge is an institution dating back to the 1890’s. Meet an old friend for cocktails in the bar that originated at the end of America’s Prohibition era.

Preferred to use the Men's Room.
Don't know the story, but the lady bathroom reminded me of NursingHomeVille. Mature Lady Place, I guess...

Holla at the moon.
Most mature setting on the East Side, sometime that is. Strong drinks with attitude. Been there a bunch.

Look up and wink at that ole stuffed cat then turn around and wave at the deer head with decorated antlers.
