Longrain is a contemporary restaurant, bar, Asian produce store and canteen. It is uniquely located within an expansive, 110 year-old converted warehouse. A hip, yet welcoming atmosphere is combined with warm service, original cocktails and award-winning, modern Thai/Asian food.
The green curry is to die for!
Betel leaf. Salt & pepper tofu.
Pork knuckle all the way! The bar down stairs is really cool with a dj playing cool grooves
Crispy market fish is a MUST HAVE. Don't be put off by the "whole fish" thing: the best bits come separated as the best fish sticks you'll ever have.
Great ambiance, dusky lighting, high ceiling and spacious. Friendly service. Dishes are on the overly sweet side adjusted for local taste, a little let down, they could have been that much better!
Cocktails are fantastic. Dining is good if you don't mind communal seating. Tho' there is an option to get individual tables. The green and red curry are splendid dishes.
Get the market fish.
Get the caramalised pork hock...absolutely devine
Nice spot, quality food and extremely flavoursome. The asian-inspired pork belly is to die for
Salt and pepper tofu with lime, soy and mirin dressing was the standout dish to me!
Whole fried fish is delicious!
Caramelised pork hock with five spice & chilli vinegar
Amazing food!!!! Eggnet was delicious!!!!
Fancy Thai cuisine to be enjoyed at communal tables. Earthy yet modern atmosphere
Cocktails look good an Eagle Rare oldfashioned just leave out the soda.
The Banana Crumble was probably the best (sexiest) desert I have had in a long time. We ordered a second one...
Get the pork hock. Then never eat again. Ever.
The caramelised pork, prawn & sour pineapple entree is RIDICULOUS. I pretty much could've just had two (or three, or ten) plates of that & been EXTREMELY happy. Fantastic staff, epic cocktails.
Busy and always buzzing, Longrain’s ad-land fashion crowd enjoy live DJs Tuesday-Saturday http://barchick.com/find-a-bar/sydney/longrain-bar-restaurant
Found a cockroach swimming in my water and when we pointed it out to the staffer they told us that sometimes when they set up the table small cockroaches crawl around the table. Not reassuring!
Love all the cocktails here. Red dragon and Gin Sin are must tries
Oh.My.Goodness. The taro cake, coconut and peanut ice cream. Makes you weak at the knees
jungle curry, ask for the original hot one..
Start out with some drinks downstairs at the bar. Green Curry and Pork Hock were winners, but you can't go wrong with the food.
The best Thai in the East. Try the $16 starter...it's an orgasm in the mouth. Jungle curry is awesome too
Light & airy space. Food is sensational, egg net is a must. Cocktails created by experienced barmen.
Avoid the papaya salad if you think it's going to be really spicy and sour like the real thing...
Coconut sorbet. Mmmmm... Cacao and Ginger as well
Restaurant is still fab but the bar staff downstairs are slack, unprofessional and are not of the same calibre as the staff upstairs.
Dragon blood for an Awsome spicey vodka cocktail!
go with a group
Caramelised pork hock is a standout dish! Egg net is also a must order. Wash all that down with a ping pong or red dragon cocktail! Cocktails are unique :)
Just the best Singapore Sling in the world. Food is pretty awesome too!
Hall of Fame
Pork belly in define.
Make sure you leave room for a few cocktails, nom nom nom!
In October, Sydney’s coolest bars mix it up for you – with a creative Chambord cocktail and matching canapé for just $20 as part of the CSIFF 2011.
The interior is very chic. Had a hard time staring at my food, because the atmosphere is so incredible. Dining is communal and the food is meant to be shared, you won't be disappointed.
Expect slow bad service and overpriced food that is over seasoned. Overpriced and disappointing. Will not be back. Hat restaurant my ass.
Don’t miss any of the merrily named in house cockatils such as the Ping Pong, Camp Bitch, Bloody Longrain or the famed Caiprioska. Trust us, you want to be slightly drunk when the bill arrives.
Reviews about pork hock are spot on. Wow.
Dr Loosen Dry Riesling. Definitely the best match for the food here...
For entree, you can't go past the betel leaves with smoked trout, and the caramelised pork hock is a standout main. Egg net was a little disappointing; I was expecting a little more flavour and egg.
Definitely the egg net! And try and grab a group as the portions are quite generous.
i love it. try their caramelised pork hock and grilled octopus with pork belly.
Get the beef curry. You ain't never had beef like this.
Duck salad is a must!
