Longwood Gardens is the living legacy of Pierre S. du Pont, inspiring people though excellence in, garden design, horticulture, education, and the arts.
Beautiful gardens... My favorite are the water lilies, orchids, butterfly plants, & pond gardens near the gazebo & castle tower. But watch out for lots of poison ivy near wooded paths (see photo).
Great place for kids. 3 tree houses. Indoor children's garden with water play. Grab scavenger hunt cards while you're in there. Outdoor train display in winter.
America's Garden Capital!
I wasn't really impressed by the tree houses, but the kids loved them. Main fountain display is closed until 2017. Conservatory was uniformly fantastic.
Even in the winter, does not disappoint.
Always something beautiful to see.
One of my favorite places in the world :)
Amazing lights displays
Great way to enjoy the holiday.
They have NO BUSINESS SELLING TICKETS TO PEOPLE FAILING TO DISCLOSE YOU HAVE TO RIDE A SCHOOL BUS TO GET IN! Never again!
Beautiful! Very pretty around Christmas and a great place to watch 4th of July fireworks
You definitely want to visit at night during the winter season and see the light decorations!
I'm 110% enchanted with this place. I will visit over and over again.
Wander through twinkling lights, poinsettias and Christmas trees at Longwood's annual Christmas display. Beautifully lit fountains dance in a starry wonderland, and concerts are presented daily.
Field trip with children of America
Fantastic mushroom soup in cafe. Bring a change of clothes for the kids after playing in the indoor children's garden. They do hand out towels now too.
The idea gardens and fruit and vegetable plants to the west side are awesome and easy to miss. Check them out.
Each seasonal exhibit is gorgeous! I'm a member and love both the mums and the holiday displays.
Fireworks at longwood garden
They have very nice flowers. Your date will love it.
A MUST SEE if you are in the area! We were staying in South New Jersey and it took about 40 minutes to visit these spectacular gardens!
This place is beautiful!
One of the world's premier horticultural showplaces, Longwood Gardens' 1050 acres boast natural woodlands, majestic gardens, conservatories, and fountains year-round.
Great place to visit!
Such a lovely way to ignite the Christmas spirit, beautiful scenery, amazing horticulture and indoor flower displays as well as lights and a musical, water fountain show to top it all off!
I didn't want to go back here for a long time, but now I sort of want to again.
Great time & a lot to see. Make sure U give Urself at least 4+ hours to see it all. When they have the fireworks show I would highly recommend n it'll be the best show U'll ever see. Well worth the $$
Beautiful place! Pack a picnic lunch.

Spring is beautiful, but the Christmas greenhouses and light displays are not to be missed.
A wonderful way to spend an afternoon. Or an evening in the winter if you enjoy holiday light displays.
Absolutely beautiful. Went there in the summer.
Christmas time is awesome!!
This is good for photographers, artists etc. The flowers are gorgeous, and the children's garden is perfect interaction. This place is gorgeous in all seasons, and open for all. Love. MUST GO!
Its like being Alice in Wonderland!
Too much here to see in one day.
like it !!!
The light show is lovely but don't go when it's humid because the walk becomes a dupont death march.
Be sure to check out the Bruce Munro exhibit going on now. It was really amazing!
check out the Bruce Monroe light exhibit throughout the gardens running through summer 2011

Got a tripod? Don't forget to get a permit.
I went for the Orchid season, it was cold and not much life outside but inside was spectacular ! I would go again in an instant.
take a moment and relax and enjoy the scenery
If you have kids, bring some slices of bread for the fish in the ponds. You won't regret it.
