Nice clean zoo. It's a nice place to spend the day with the kids. Though, don't go when is extremely hot. You have to walk a lot and it's horrible when it's extremely hot. The zoo is quite big.
We liked it and it worth the visit, but unfortunately it was an extremely hot summer day and most of the animals where inside their caves :(
Giraffes were awesome
Our groups love going to the LA Zoo. Great for field trips and summer camps.
Nice zoo. Lots of fun. Nice day out
The animals in excellent conditions
Amazing. We took lunch and had a nice little picnic.
This place is so fun it's amazing but it's very hot and dangerous DONT PLAY ON THE BAMBOO.( I broke my arm )
Get in at least 3 hours prior to closing. They put the larger animals in an hour before closing.
The staff at the #LaZoo is so professional. This visit was so educational but fun! Kudos for hiring a knowledgeable staff.
Get here by 10 before the crowd
LA Zoo Lights
It's the LA Zoo. Look for some of their events!
Nice to be here.. But most of the animals are sleeping
Gets pretty cold at night and definitely smells like a zoo. Much larger than you'd expect though, so be prepared to walk!
Come see the baby hippo!
Go during the middle of the week and you will have the place to yourself
Great place to wander around and get some quiet time.
Drinks lots of water! Great walk and it's beautiful :)
Not a bad place to check out, especially when they have events during summer nights .. Drinks and good food trucks with live music while you walk the park ..
Free parking! Beer carts! Almonds!
During the summer, KCRW presents Roaring Nights. No children allowed means an adult-only night in the park with your favorite food trucks, alcoholic beverages, and things that go bump in the night.
This $42 million exhibit complex at the center of the zoo opened in 2010 and houses Asian elephants wildlife.LA Zoo is a 133-acre (54 ha) zoo founded in 1966 City of Los Angeles owns the entire zoo,
Great place for families! My daughter loves the zoo!
Reptile Lair and the primate sections are my favorite.
I am always amazed at how wonderful this place is!!
The beer and wine really help take the edge off the screaming children
Dirty ugly place with sad excuses for animal habitats.
Best place to bring kids, get some outdoor exercise or have a stroll with a beer in hand. Yearly membership beats any gym or kids place fees.
If short on time or want to avoid a lot of hot walking Take shuttle for $2 a head to back of zoo and walk down to entrance. First shuttle stop/start is just past marketplaces 200 yards past entrance.
This place seemed amazing from the enormous entrance sign but what a disappointment. We walked endlessly and didn't see much. Sign out front: beware of bees is true they are everywhere & will attack.
Worst zoo experience I ever had. Most of the exhibits were closed. Other exhibits were not laid out in a manner to where you could see the animals (I.e. tall grass and inclines)
Today was the fundraiser. Therefore no vendors, food place closed, and guess what? There was 3 elephants and a hippo. Pretty sad now that a fundraiser is happening do we actually get to see the animals
Go when they first open. It's cooler and less crowded.
Zoo's exhibit are simply amazing plus try their churros stand.
Whoever said parking sucks is entirely incorrect... FREE parking (yes, free parking in LA) and a huge lot. Also the beer is only $5 (domestic) $6 (imported!) Reasonably priced food too! Or BYO picnic!
Get a membership. Well worth it
Buy tickets online the line is busy
Rhino is called Rhonda and if you call her name you can see her ears twitch.
Be at the gate when the zoo opens. Head to the back of the zoo and work your way forward. Try to see everything by noon and then head out as the mass of visitors comes pouring through the entrance.
They have a serious bee/trash problem- it's a health hazard. Not impressed and won't be back.
Sit on a bench with an ice cream and watch all the dirty looks you get from kids in strollers
Filthy, neglected and ill-maintained. Disappointing.
Parking on weekends is a pain in the ass!
Don't feed the animals!
Buy tix in advance online coz the line is Long. Ps parking sux
The LAIR is the newest exhibit at the zoo and well worth visiting!
Go early so you can catch the animals before it gets too warm. They'll likely be more active!
Go during a weekday, parking is horrendous on weekends.
