LOUISIANA Museum of Modern Art is located 35 km north of Copenhagen with a panoramic view across the Øresund. The interaction between world class art, nature and architecture is unique, and Louisiana is often hailed as “probably the most beautiful museum in the world”.
The museum itself is solid, but the park grounds spotted with sculptures overlooking the sea and Sweden are fantastic. The cafe has good food and beer/wine you can drink on the patio with views.
An absolute must when visiting Copenhagen. Stunning grounds, thoughtful exhibitions and high quality collection. Queues to buy tickets can be long at the weekend so go for a train/admission combo.
Best museum I've ever been to. Located close to an idyllic lake and the sea, the museum leads you round a path of Modern art. The one hour trip from Copenhagen is more than worth it.
One of the best museums I've ever been to. It is art itself. Take the train, walk 10mins and enjoy modern art right by the stormy sea (yes, panorama view included).
This is a museum I want to visit every year or two. I like going there in autumns; it’s still warm and as it gets darker in the evenings you can walk in the park and look into the lit up museum.
Peacefully quiet and relaxing. Really nice art collection. Take a combo ticket directly at the train station, way cheaper. Such a breathtaking view of the sea and Sweden.
if you are hungry, go for the "all-you-can-eat" buffet in their cafe. it costs 120 and you can choose from a variety of delicius meats, salads, sidedishes and soups. then take a nap on the beach
Gorgeous building in an equally gorgeous setting (right by the sea - overlooking a sculpture garden). Great permanent collection. Well curated and thoughtfully laid out.
Despite being around 30-40 min train ride from city centre, this is a world-class contemporary art museum. Comprehensive collection, excellent views if you want to take a break and a large gift store.
This was the highlight of my trip to Copenhagen. Amazing art and views. Buy a combined train and museum ticket from the lost and found counter at the Main Train station. Saves time and money.
Great museum, the main temporary exhibition is usually very extensive and impressive, depending on your taste of course, it can be very busy and is best to visit in quieter hours if possible.
Take a round ticket including the entry (cheaper). A must see: great architecture in a peaceful environment. Great view over the sea and great collection. Fantastic jorn and Pollock temp. exhibition.
a must see in Copenhagen! interesting exhibitions, amazing views of the sea, and don't forget to take a break and grab some coffee! the buffet is extremely tasty! carrot cake is heavenly yummy!
Great exhibitions/ collection and beautiful location along the water. Bit difficult to find the way inside. Buy your coffee elsewhere. Lovely outside spaces with artwork/ terraces. Definitely a must!
Danmark's best museum og modern art. And the surroundings at the ocean are unbeatable. Remember to try the lunch or hot chocolate at the restaurant. They also stage high quality piano concerts.
A museum of impressive collections of modern and contemporary art, with artists like Andy Warhol, Henry Moore, and Picasso. Go to the Louisiana Café to enjoy great food and amazing views of Øresund.
Wonderful modern art museum and perfect location. They have a great permanent exhibition and the gift shop has a lot of good designer stuff, clothes, books, prints and toys and gadgets.
This place is really a must! Go here in the spring/summer and enjoy the sculptures and amazing view outside. Wifi passcode: louisiana
Great modern art museum with nice skulptural park and museum cafe with sea-view. Big art and design store inside. Walk from Humlebaek station approx. 15 Minutes.
When you're finished with the museum, don't exit through the gift shop. Instead, head out the back and through the gate onto the beach. Take in amazing views of Øresund across to Sweden
Great collections of modern and contemporary art. Go to the Louisiana Café to enjoy amazing views of Sweden and the sea. P.S. don't forget to lay on the grass :)
The museum is open late so you can still have a half day (or more!) in Copenhagen and be able to catch a train and see everything before closing. Exhibits always seem provocative--highly recommended!
The kids area is great. Buy the annual card for 600 kr per year, you can entre with a guest and get discount in the cafeteria which has wonderful buffet
great exposition on the conquest of the arctic going on right now. go out to to the open air statue quarter and enjoy an amazing view on the coastline of sweden.
The outdoor sculpture garden has breathtaking views! Tip: bring your own lunch to skip the long line at the cafe!
If you're gonna do a day trip here from city center, make sure to get the 24h train pass. Much more economical than buying 2 one-way tickets.
Still my top favourite museum! This is not a museum to enjoy on a hurry, take your time... Beware, the parking lot is small. Remind to close your car!
This place is stunning. Definitely worth a visit. The exhibitions, the architecture, the views: beautiful.
Such a fun day outdoors, you can spend hours exploring and looking out. The indoors pales in comparison.
Take a picnic outside to admire the view across the Øresund. The children’s wing has both art to see and crafts to do. – Green Guide Editor
If travelling by train from Copenhagen Central Station, ask for a return ticket which includes museum entry. It is cheaper than individual tickets.
One of the best museums I've visited so far! Big gift/museum shop and an amazing (outdoor) view!
The museum is an art exhibition In it self the space is Fantastic to just strolling in no matter what is being exhibited at the moment
Bring your mobile as a lot of art works come with a QR-code. Scan the code with your phone to view videos with extra info by the museum director on selected art works!
If you're eating, the best deal is the delicious buffet (120 kr) which is only just a little more expensive than one smørrebrød (79 kr)!
One of the nicest museums in the world. Don't miss out on the surprisingly delicious buffet and look through the posters in the shop.
Eat cake in the park overlooking the sea!! Worth a visit even if you are not overly into art/paintings.
If you only need to go to the gift shop, you can get a refund for your ticket if you leave the museum within 30 minutes.
Most beautiful museum with an amazing view. A huge collection of Pop Art and many others. It worths the trip to get there.
Free wifi, wonderful buffet and if it's a warm summer day, go to the sea first and take a swim before entering the museum.
best day of my trip to copenhagen, beautiful place.right next to a beach with a view of sweden.the caffe has great food.buy a combined ticket for train and entry,it is cheaper.
This is the most beautiful art museum, i've ever been to. And the museum shop is really good.
They have some really good exhibitions with artist's from around the world. Also the surroundings are just beautiful
Unique building in Unique surroundings. Worth the trip. While we were there: excellent expo on Arabic contemporary art.
You could be spending a good portion of a day here. Bring a blanket and a book for chill in the park in between or after checking out the exhibitions. Lovely.
Beautiful location with great exhibitions. Food in the cafe is also very good. Definitely worth the trip out.
A fantastic place near the seaside. Magical views, great outdoors, nice cafe and outstanding art installations.
Amazing setting, go for a walk in the lake garden. Lunch and dinner are very delicious as well.
