Opened in October 1999, Lupa Osteria Romana is modeled after a traditional Roman trattoria, providing classic Roman cuisine in a festive atmosphere.
Cacio e Pepe. Fantastic!
Good pasta and octopus dish. A bit heavy on the salt but would recommend
Eat everything. Skip the limoncello.
The pasta was a bit too al dente. The salumi was fantastic, though.
The salad and pastas are amazing but the manager is the rudest person ever. Cacio e Pepe is fantastic.
No doubt everything
Absolutely phenomenal pasta, if you are really really hungry get the 5 pasta sampler, delicious, and lemon sorbet to end.
Gnocchi is pillowy pasta heaven.
Casual and comfortable restaurant.. Friendly service .. Short rib pasta 👍
Bavette cacio e pepe!
I don't love this place. always packed and service is rushed and sort of disinterested. food is tasty though, so if the other parts don't bother you, you may enjoy.
Gnocchi such soft so pillowy
Mario Batali's take on Italian classics with surprisingly good prices and excellent service. Go on Tuesday and get the duck special. Amazing! You'll come back for more.
Quintessential Mario Batali experience every time.
The best part is the Amari tastings for dessert.
Spaghetti Pomodoro, broccoli rabe
Good date spot
Amazing food :)
For antipasti-Carciofi Alla Giudia or lingua and teste from the meat tray. Ricotta gnocchi was amazing as was the bucatini all'americana. Sunday braciola was very soft and tender. For dessert tartufo
Do the Roman tasting menu and split a bottle of wine. Each pasta was delicious. The ravioli randomly stood out. You will leave stuffed!!

Finally tried this place on a Thurs 10pm. A candle lit/dim ambiance was good. Warm prosciutto salad/ cacio e pepe/ carbonara were all very simple but flavorful. Tartufo was very rich/ hazelnut-y!!
Get the warm pancetta salad. Yum.
Romantic and authentic. A great place for dates.
The gnocchi is made here with ricotta rather than typical potato so makes for a creamier dreamier version!!
My love for Italian started here. I still dream of their ragu. It's inspired a trend to try ragu everywhere I go, nothing has come close.
Roman pasta tasting
To be honest, nothing tasted special in the main dishes but this particular dessert called "Lupa Tartufo" is a good reason to go back there and give other dishes another chance. Its like heaven.
Get the octopus. It's amazing.
Pasta tasting. Vegetarian is an option!
Bavette cacio e pepe is a must. Once took a taxi from JFK during an extended transfer just to have this.
The service is top notch, the interior warm and welcoming. My ❤ Sweetbreads, Artichokes, the Spinach Salad with Pancetta, Gnocchi with Sausage, Red snapper and Cod. Highly recommend this place.
Octopus with Eggplant pesto is amazing.
Roasted pork and olive oil cake!

bucatini and tartufo
Very good gnocchi! Eat in the back room, it's cozy and romantic.
Hands down my favorite restaurant in Manhattan. The escarole salad is a MUST.
Promised a place in half an hour. We waited over an hour and got just false smiles, but NO table! We went to eat at the neighbors.
All it's pretty goog but the service could be better
Batali-Bastianich's Italian trattoria is always busy, so make reservations in advance. The well-executed pastas, such as the spaghetti pomodoro, and plates (the pork belly!) are well worth the hassle.
Went for an ok Aglio e Olio, but the desert cheese selection was great. Didn't check out the wine menu
I.would skip this place. Very long wait for service, mediocre food and poor presentation. Had to flag someone down for water to start and check after waiting 15 min each.
