Always great. The crispy chicken guisada tacos are delicious.
The pinnacle of South Austin; crazy decorations, live music, and cheap Mexican food. Great place to hang. The migas is bangin
Taco express has the best vibe, food, and hippie church on Sundays. Voted one of 5 best tacos in Austin. Just this month. It's worth the wait. And for winter, Pozole and chicken soup. Must have.
It was a great experience. Definitely go there!
Chorizo tacos..... Done
Good not great. Al Pastor was weak but the fish taco was good in flavor and size. It's worth checking out to see for yourself.
Bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast taco
The Sprite is delicious
Sunday mornings is the day to be there! Hippie Church is until 2pm with lively mix of Gospel/ Blues/ classic rock. A must see for people wanting to feel what " Austin Weird" feels like.
Don't mistakenly order from Torchy's #topsecret menu. Great spot and great music. :)
Great place with a spacious outdoor area and upper deck.
breakfast tacos are killer
Migas and avocado tacos are yummy
Little screams South Austin as loudly and proudly as Maria's. Expect simple, fast fare like the hangover-curing gorditas, a brunch build-your-own Bloody Mary bar, and lots of folks keepin' it weird.
Great prices, excellent food..hmm does it get much better?
Hosting El taco Ciego
Enchiladas De la Casa! Mmm great veggie plate.
Enchiladas made fresh to the order!
Good food~ fast service~ great place to hang out with friends!
Fucking good chorizo!
Al pastor tacos are incredible. Love the Nepal and Al Fresco too. Mean cup of joe too.
I don't know, I wasn't that impressed :-(
Barbacoa taco is the best!
Go hear Leann Atherton on Friday nights or for gospel brunch on Sunday noon to 2. Shout out to dad playing keyboard.
Secret of a taco = egg + meat + bean/potato
Egg, potato, bacon, cheese, jalapeño breakfast tacos.
Miga + Mexi Taco = Yes, please!
Cheap tacos great music good cheap drinks And in the neighborhood
Very meh food. Bland and generic. $2.50-$3 tacos. Hippie atmosphere is cool if you're into it, otherwise you're better off at a taqueria.
Maria's has been making tacos fresh daily for 12 years. Try the Pollo Guisado, which is like barbecue chicken in an enchilada.
Good place to practice grammatically correct Spanish
This place gets packed on Sunday mornings so be sure to get there before 10am!
Hippie church is first Sunday of each month from noon until 2p http://365thingsaustin.com/2010/09/26/269-hippie-church/
We eat here often for 2 reasons: 1) it's very cheap and 2) easy to find healthier, liter options due to all the veggie friendly items. At least for Tex Mex :)
Huevos rancheros are a great hearty meal. Love it!
My favorite breakfast tacos. Simple but reliably good.
Awesome.... my favorite from my first day in Austin
Order numbers are also on LED displays above the band...
Great queso! If you love queso and live on South Lamar, Maria's and Kerby Lane are the best!
Steer clear of the coffee. Terrible.
You slept in but NEED your breakfast taco to keep going? Go by this spot, its one of the only places where you can get them all day.
Great place for quick Mexican food or breakfast tacos. Best in the area. Can't miss hippie church, there nothing else quite like it.
Great spot for breakfast, especially if you have out of town guests.
Yummy migas breakfast tacos although can be way too crowded on Sundays. Vegetarian friendly.
Come to 'Hippie Church' on Sunday, featuring a live gospel band, and enjoy a migas breakfast taco while listening to the music!
