The kitschy decor and bountiful serving sizes make this spot in the southwestern section of town one of Austin's best for tacos. Especially breakfast tacos.
Maria's has been making tacos fresh daily for 12 years. Try the Pollo Guisado, which is like barbecue chicken in an enchilada.
Migas Taco is the best in Austin, their queso is reasonably priced and delicious! Their patio is also dog friendly, this has become my morning ritual. Te amo, loca Maria!
Little screams South Austin as loudly and proudly as Maria's. Expect simple, fast fare like the hangover-curing gorditas, a brunch build-your-own Bloody Mary bar, and lots of folks keepin' it weird.
Cheap but yummylicious Queso (given the price). Fairly inconsistent food. Stay away from the "bland" plates = stick w/ ordering soft tacos & chile con queso! Veggie friendly.
Great spot for breakfast, especially if you have out of town guests.
My favorite breakfast tacos. Simple but reliably good.
Great place for quick Mexican food or breakfast tacos. Best in the area. Can't miss hippie church, there nothing else quite like it.
Fucking good chorizo!
Come to 'Hippie Church' on Sunday, featuring a live gospel band, and enjoy a migas breakfast taco while listening to the music!
Potato and egg tacos rock!!
It was a great experience. Definitely go there!
Migas and avocado tacos are yummy
Egg, potato, bacon, cheese, jalapeño breakfast tacos.
Cheap tacos great music good cheap drinks And in the neighborhood
Very meh food. Bland and generic. $2.50-$3 tacos. Hippie atmosphere is cool if you're into it, otherwise you're better off at a taqueria.
Good place to practice grammatically correct Spanish
Hippie church is first Sunday of each month from noon until 2p http://365thingsaustin.com/2010/09/26/269-hippie-church/
Great queso! If you love queso and live on South Lamar, Maria's and Kerby Lane are the best!
On weekend mornings, grab some fresh tacos while you listen to live music and chase with your kids. Check out the funky decor.
Saw this on food network for their enchiladas.
This is the place for aging hippies and hemp crazed youngsters looking for home made Mexican food and good Austin roots music in an outdoor venue. Highly recomended for it's laid back factor
The pinnacle of South Austin; crazy decorations, live music, and cheap Mexican food. Great place to hang. The migas is bangin
Taco express has the best vibe, food, and hippie church on Sundays. Voted one of 5 best tacos in Austin. Just this month. It's worth the wait. And for winter, Pozole and chicken soup. Must have.
Chorizo tacos..... Done
Good not great. Al Pastor was weak but the fish taco was good in flavor and size. It's worth checking out to see for yourself.
Bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast taco
The Sprite is delicious
Sunday mornings is the day to be there! Hippie Church is until 2pm with lively mix of Gospel/ Blues/ classic rock. A must see for people wanting to feel what " Austin Weird" feels like.
Don't mistakenly order from Torchy's #topsecret menu. Great spot and great music. :)
Great place with a spacious outdoor area and upper deck.
breakfast tacos are killer
Great prices, excellent food..hmm does it get much better?
Enchiladas made fresh to the order!
Good food~ fast service~ great place to hang out with friends!
Al pastor tacos are incredible. Love the Nepal and Al Fresco too. Mean cup of joe too.
I don't know, I wasn't that impressed :-(
Barbacoa taco is the best!
Go hear Leann Atherton on Friday nights or for gospel brunch on Sunday noon to 2. Shout out to dad playing keyboard.
Secret of a taco = egg + meat + bean/potato
Miga + Mexi Taco = Yes, please!
This place gets packed on Sunday mornings so be sure to get there before 10am!
