Takes about 1 hr 10 minutes to get to N Springs from the airport. Plan accordingly.
Take either Gold or Red line to downtown ATL for just $2.50. Lines are parallel for first 13 stops.
If you are heading over to midtown/Buckhead/perimeter direction, this is absolutely the best way to do it.
Download OneBusAway app for real-time bus and train arrival times!
The signage looks more like an orange line.
You might have to wait for the train to leave, but any wait is better than driving in Atlanta (if my hair was long enough to grab hold of I'd've pulled it out in Wed's 5pm traffic).
Visitors may not be aware that thanks to several layers of completely incompetent local governments, MARTA only goes to places you certainly don't want or need to get to, except downtown.
Skip a taxi and take the MARTA. Way faster especially during rush hour.
Be nice to the Marta folks
Make sure to pay your fare!
Is not the fastest system by any means
20 min wait is ridiculous when you have to pay so much to go only a few stations.
Great way to get home after a nice trip!
This is the easiest and cheapest way to get into downtown. Don't bother hiring one of the shuttle services - a one-way trip on MARTA is only $2.50!
Make sure you get your seat first or the passengers will cloud the train with there baggage. The walk way is always filled with luggages.
Staff members very helpful in getting you a Breeze car.
Walk to the end of this station for a pretty good view of the jets landing. You can also see how crazy pick-up and drop-off gets.
Get a car riding the train on the wkend sucks
Easy to use, cheap and will use again for sure!
Don't read and ride backwards.
North Springs to the right off the escalator
Do ride the elevator people tend to use it as a porta potty
Don't ride the elevator, people tend to use it as a porta potty
If you are visiting Atlanta definitely get a day/week pass. Definitely helps to get around if you but a City Pass
Keep your Breeze card; you'll need it with you as long as you ride the system. If you're going downtown OR riding after 7 p.m. it doesn't matter which train you ride, otherwise it does.
Slowest part of your trip home is waiting on MARTA at the airport station.
Instead of snakes on a plane we have crazies on the train. I love mass transit.
Marta is ok if your not a frequent rider. If your a reg. pay online, CC machine down all the time.. Employees are rude as they deal with negativity all day. Make sure your early or your not on time!
Taking MARTA cause it's smarta! :-) It's great to be able to avoid Atlanta's early, rush hour rain traffic!
Best way to get to the airport and avoid traffic and expensive parking.
If you're just visiting like me, be sure to take MARTA from the airport into the city. Only $2.50 one way and beats a $20 cab ride.
Staff members outside the Breeze Card kiosks were super friendly and helpful!
Definitely the fastest and most cost effective way to get downtown.
Download the Marta App that way you know train schedule!
Only five bucks each way from the Discover Mills Park & Ride to the airport! What a deal!
If you love in the burbs, use the Park & Ride. It costs less than your gas alone, and you can relax for an hour instead of fighting traffic!
If two trains available ask which leaves first.
Bring exact change so you do not get stuck with a bunch of coins after buying breeze card.
I have ridden this train quite a bit and never felt concerned for my safety... Be smart and you shouldn't have a problem.
Use the rest room before you get on the train.
MARTA is safe leaving the airport, as there are a lot of airport people on the train. Overall though, MARTA does not appear to be safe...
If you use the MARTA often (e.g. for conventions), buy the MARTA card for $1 and keep it for future years.
Here's a tip......if you don't know where you are going, ask a MARTA Employee instead of a random passenger on the train!!
The south end of the platform (away from the direction the trains enter/leave) is the closest to an observation deck that you'll find at ATL.
To the girl who claims that MARTA is "safe and as clean as a subway system gets"...clearly you have not ridden MARTA too often.
Be patient, trains take forever to depart.
Look at the train map to figure out which train you should be on. Then read the marquee on the outside of the train!
Going to the airport? Park at Sandy Springs for five bucks a day! It's 42 minutes to the airport, which is as fast as or faster than driving in the morning and evening traffic!
Does the escalator here ever work?
Cheapest and easiest ways to get to most places north of the airport
