Heard good reviews but the Kuro Ramen was surprisingly bland in taste. First sip - you'll be hit by the garlic oil ... not coming back.

Hardly authentic Tonkotsu ramen. Meat was tough and tasteless. Noodle was doughy and bland. Overall, it lacked flavor. Don't look for great ramen around here.

This is absolutely the best ramen shop in bay area. Kuro is the choice if you go there for the first time. One catch is that they take cash only.

This place is cheap on their customers. 3/4 of your bowl is bean sprouts and 1/4 is noodles. Also why do they give kimchee? Isn't it a Japanese restaurant...

Not impressed with Kuro ramen at all - bland, and just not tasty. Special add-ons don't make sense with it either. Complimentary chips and kimchi are pretty good though.

Owned by Koreans, the ramen is good but doesn't live to the hype. If you are coming here for the garlic ramen you should head to Ramen Dojo in San Mateo.

The kuro tsukemen broth was too salty and lukewarm. The already cold noodles, though delicious, came out colder when dipped in the broth. This is not the tsukemen you are looking for.

Avoid the Kuro ramen; the roasted garlic overpowers everything good about their ramen. Stick with the Tonkotsu Ramen. House-made noodles & a well cooked egg makes this one of my fav joints in the bay!
