Easy access to the Boston Common
No idea when a Green Line train to North Station is gonna come? Take the Winter Street concourse to Downtown Crossing and hop on an Orange Line train towards Oak Grove. They have ETA clocks there!
The oldest subway station in America (and the world?)!
Oldest train station in the country?
During the winter, use the underground walkway that connects Downtown Crossing and Park Street for warm Orange / Blue Line connections.
For those of you taking the Green Line : The headhouse closest to Tremont Street is for Green Line service to Lechmere. The one closest to the Common is for Outbound service. It'll save you time.
A bit warm on the platform. But fans available.
Avoid this station right before or after Red Sox games. It gets slammed and is miserable
The green line always goes into the wrong spot and never has a timetable up
Abandon hope (for a quick train out) all ye who enter here. Boston's own pit of despair in the summer rush hours.
Dont give money to the guy claiming to take a bus to Springfield for drug rehab...you're actually only adding to his habit.
It does get very hot during the summer and cold during the winter. The artwork on the green line platform is nice but I wish the red line got one love too. - Penina Mezei
One of th many ways to enter the Green Line
Remember Lechmere trains are inbound E Trains. Change here for Red Line Trains.
Going off the rails of the Trashmont train
The lechmere train here comes infrequently...that's the only one you may want to run for
oh look! the MBTA can't bother to put train info up on Sundays besides Mumbles Malone the garbled announcer.
This station is ALWAYS hot. Be prepared to sweat.
Always use the center platform for the Red Line. Ignore the minor convenience issues—the doors close last, so you catch more trains. Simple as that!
Do not take the elevator. Smells like urine.
Catch the Green or Red line here! Also a walkway to Orange line is available.
Watch out for a short hispanic guy in a red puffy coat trying to swipe wallets and other valuables. Always there around 4pm Braintree/Ashmont platform
First on to yellow line wins :-)
If anyone calls you an asshole for shoving on before everyone gets off, its probably me. Came at me, bro.
Make sure you take the right stairwell to avoid paying twice!
If you ever have a free day, spend it traveling along the MBTA counting how many crazy people you can find. It's easy at park street because their is always a crazy woman shaking a tin can outside
If you're looking for a seat on a Red Line train, wait on the center platform. The doors will open with a delay. While everyone else gets out on the other side, you get access to the seats!
Last train leaves at 1:30 am but won't see it on your mobile apps (OpenMBTA, TRANSIT, etc...)
Worst busker ever but I appreciate his effort. Rock on!
Connected to downtown crossing via an underground concourse that takes 5 min to traverse. So essentially the same stop!
The MBTA does run late....you can grab a train at 1:15 & miss the cab chaos.
The yellow line alongside the tracks is for running, NOT strolling, or walking. You will get pushed, bumped hard or cursed out if you don't move out the way. :-/
If you're riding the Red Line and the station is busy, moving down the platforms away from the Green Line stairs prevents jostling from other harried commuters.
Note to #Boston youth: When a person who is handicapped or elderly boards the T, stand up and give them your seat. #duh #manners #mbta
What's been happening lately is paper passes won't work. Get a plastic card! You can put day, week and month passes on them.
Red line it to alewife plus green line is a joke
Why do they hide the signs to the Greenline Westbound?
The busiest station in the MBTA. Read: crowded. In the mornings you have to fight through a mob to get up the stairs from the red line platform.
Needs air circulation! Hot and stuffy in summers.
Metalheads: leave the Bullet Belt at home or you will be on the terror watch list.
Don't be in a rush to get on the Red Line cars...90% of passengers will be looking to get off here.
This music group is nice...seen them a few times @ park street
@MBTA service sucks. Why can't they do repairs at night??
The waitresses are a bit to be desired and the food is bland.
Add more Lechmere trains. The cars are too packed.
Red line algorithm: head down to the center platform. If the train's not there, return upstairs & go to the outside platform. The benches are all on the outside platforms.
Green Line E on Patty's Day = Shit show.
Never know what side of the train to get off of.... I just go against my instinct. Works every time!
