Never had a problem parking in the lot at street level. You can even pay via a mobile app.
If you can, avoid parking on the lowermost level. The intersection that awaits you is not worth the convenience.

You don't need to have cash to pay for parking anymore. There's now a cash/credit pay by foot machine. Skip the line and pay by credit card when you leave directly to the ticket machine.
Make sure you know how much is on your card. The charlie machines will double charge you
Card a free recharge Charlie card, you save $$ on every trip!
Having 2 stand
Bring 1's and pay with exact change!
Parking is cash only and the ATM here is almost always broken...be prepared!
