Honestly, I'm a tiny girl and I've been coming and going at Ruggles for years. All through high school without a single problem. People are forcing it with the "unsafe" remarks.
It's a little sketch. But I walk thru here every day. It's right next to NU. There's usually a couple cops in there to yell at me for longboarding in the station, so it cant be that unsafe.

It's very simple, if you don't look like a target and you won't be one. The same rules apply when traversing suburbia.
It all depends on your timing and your natural disposition on urban areas.
