The South Station Train Terminal is at the core of the intermodal transportation hub located in Downtown Boston. The Train Terminal provides service for the Commuter rail, Amtrak, Bus Terminal, and the MBTA's Red Line and Silver line.
Look for the shoe shine for a treat for your shoes 😄👞🇺🇸!
Lots of weirdos loiter here in the evening.
Easy access to Boston's South Station and the Acela express to NYC and Washington
Friendly police, and lots of food to choose from
make a beeline for your destination and plow through the crowds so you can escape as quickly as possible.
Cheese Boy all day.
The food court is good but there's alot of unsavory characters running around as well
So much better after the remodel. Red cap Amtrak guys rock.
I loved traveling through South Station each day. The sites were amazing. People, People everywhere. :-) Great food spots and quick access to the subway.
food court opens before the first departure (both the train and bus terminal)
All things ground trans run well to & from here!
Beautifully restored exceptional functioning; transit busses, coach busses, MBTA trains, MBTA red & silver subway lines, taxis and immediate to Financial District, China Town and Boston Waterfront.
At least there's a diverse food selection
Solid, safe terminal with places to eat and great service
Where the loonies tunes hang out
Never a dull monent
Busy place but has a great selection of shops to kill time. Remember to keep moving through and not stop in the middle of the platform or train
It's huge and you can buy the ticket in the train by cash or through the app so easily !
Beautiful train station complete with shops, eateries and a grand hall
Great transportation hub. Amtrak, Subway, shuttle to Airport and ferry service including Provincetown. Taxi and bus as well
Food courts offer a good variety
Walk inside to a wonderful sunlit experience!
Buy your commuter rail pass/tickets on the smartphone app. It's cheaper and more convenient as they don't accept cash on the trains.
Market outside on thursdays
Thank goodness they have a bar here now
If you're coming up from the subway and don't need the trains, just get aboveground ASAP and figure out where you are after
Silver and Red Lines are pretty good.
Sometimes it's nice to just sit down and observe the busy people around you. Are they late? Are they excited for their destination? Are they stressed? Who knows
Lookout for the line starting to form 20-30 minutes before train departure to NYC even if the track hasn't been announced yet. Best way to get a good seat.
You have to get your Bitcoins elsewhere; the ATM here seems to be closed. There should be one at Harvard Square.
If you need to charge your phone, there are outlets on mezzanine level, you have to look under some tables to find them. There's also one on the right side of McDonald's.
Always buy your tickets for the MBTA before you get on a train. If you need to pay the conductor in cash, there's a $3 fee!
Need a license just to board a Peter Pan... lame! Never had to do THAT before.
If seating is unavailable on the 1st-floor (with the arrival/departure board), try the 2nd-floor seating situated west (above the eateries). It has a nice view facing Atlantic Avenue.
i am though here regularly on bolt bus from NYC. the last FIVE TIMES my bus has been "randomly selected" for search by narc dogs upon arrival. just saying.
November 2013 - new women's bathroom! So much cleaner than the old one.
Always a zillion things going on here
United club members... Go sit in the Acela club. It's the prettiest one I have been to. No booze at Amtrak Acela clubs though...
Take a late CR train ad they may scare you by announcing the wrong stops after you've boarded at last call.
You should probably know how to speak multiple languages working at south station .
Push everyone out of the way, you might still make that train!
If you're heading out for some fun there are tons of bars, shopping outlets, and interesting places to visit! You can walk to Downtown Crossing!
Grab some snacks while waiting for a train
Don't come here with a nearly dead or flat out dead mobile phone. It's a treasure hunt trying to find a decent, working outlet for charging.
