Probably the best Indian buffet I've tried in the Boston area so far. Go on weekends, when they have a greater variety of dishes available (including samosas)!

(Best of Boston 2013-INDIAN) Improper Bostonian says, "Sanskrit for "fair", Mela offers tandoori dishes and classic curries that are your ticket for a joyride through Indian cooking."

Sometimes you just want to dig into some rich, filling Indian food to soothe your soul & not have to think about it. Mela in the South End covers both bases, with its new organic Indian cuisine menu. Read more

Try the dinner for two. Very flexi and a smart option. Works out very well. The only complaint about this place is they expect a lot of tip or gratuity

If I were on a deserted island... Mela would be the one restaurant I needed. Chicken tikka masala, onion naan and a mango lassi. Copper colored walls & glitter table tops. This is my happy place.

The service leaves much to be desired. I didn't find any genuine warmth the entire time we ate there. Doesn't matter how the food was, I wouldn't want to go back.
