Melbourne Museum is one of Australia's biggest and most visited museums.
Great place to take family.
Can spend 2 hours here easily
Dinosaurs is everyway 😁
Super cool modern space... After being inside, enjoy a walk in the park around the museum. Walk a few blocks down Gertrude Street for some unique cafes as a change of pace.
The human body section was great, loved the area on metal health and illness. Great for all ages
one of the nice museums I've been too. kids area is a helpful distraction for the very young ones
their forest gallery is awesome! try to spot the birds and notice that a whole ecosystem exists in that section of the museum!
#WhiteNight - great time! Astonishing animations
Sells beer & wine during White Night.
Very nice museum. Save some time to learn some things about the World's history.
Free entry with ANY student id
They have real live lungfish here. Watch them swim and wonder at your prehistoric past.
It's free for students or cheap for anyone else. Easily be entertained for a few hours there! Definitely recommend :)
Very interesting expositions
One of the best museums I've been toz
Ooh! Find the button to push to smell dung!
Did you know? Port Philip Bay was dry land as recently as 8000 years ago!
The Melbourne Museum is on Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, YouTube, and Foursquare of course!
Bring winter clothes !!! So bloody freezing inside !!!
Free entry at 4.30 pm.
So Nice ..................
Always has great exhibitions. Check out what's on when in Melbourne
Awesome experience! Very sensitive and scary when next to the bugzzzZZZZ. You can explore for hours and get lost in the world, nature and society histories!
The Afghanistan Hidden Treasures exhibition is small but wonderfully presented and provides a fascinating insight into an ancient culture. Thoroughly worth a visit.
They don't do touring exhibition only tickets which is a pity if you've already seen the main museum
basement clothes stores are fresh, Carhartt Nixon Element
Great :) Try to get here before the school children
lots of exhibitions, and they are all pretty interesting! can spend the whole afternoon in there if you are interested!
Always worth a visit. I love the human brain exhibit, but there is plenty of awesome stuff. And Free WiFi!
A ticket entitles you to free entry all day; but then so does the museum's non-existent security.
Education for girls
Coffee is over priced, atmosphere is basic. Obviously the museum is great and nearby so that is a plus. Seems understaffed and slow on a regular basis. Pricey sandwiches are fresh-ish so best option.
Each school holiday season we bring our vacation care children here and they love it. WE will be back these school holidays.
Free wifi is a bonus
There's also the winter festival this weekend .. Plus yummy French Galettes!!
Give me some
Show a valid metcard for 20% off entry to any exhibition. Good old fashion value that!!
definitely worth exploring all the nooks and crannies
Tutankhamun exhibit. Once in a life time!
Here for Tutankhamun? Tell us your reviews, feedback on Twitter #kingtutmelb or Melbourne Museum Facebook page
The King Tut exhibition is pretty cool!
Kids play area is awesome for rainy days. Get there before noon nap time :)
The display of Dino digestion on the touchscreen is hilarious in dinosaur walk. The BONG noise when the sauropod does a poo always cracks me up
The wild - amazing animals in a changing world display is excellent. Augmented reality touch screens and cameras "label" the stuffed animals. Fantastic design and use of technology
