People tend to check in during these times:
the ticket machine are only on the New York bound side

Better station than New Haven for Metro North service.
If you don't buy your ticket from the machine on the platform you will pay considerably more on th train
If you park across the street at a private lot take one of the rear two cars in you way back. It will put you right by the stair down to those lots.
The food at the GotChef trailer on the NY side is amazing!

Drinking on the platforms is against the law. The MTA pd had been made aware of this it is mostly folks for the yankees games

Have exact change! The ticket machine doesn't give back bills only dollar coins
In the morning, find a seat in the rear of the train. There will be 2 seaters available.
1st 2 cars on train will let you off right at the platform giving you protection from the rain
Go to Scratch Baking on the southbound side before departing.
Nice little station, about a dozen food options within two blocks. Only ticket machines are on the southbound side.
Parking lot attendant leaves at 10:15AM, Monday-Friday and charges $6 per day to park in lots 1, 2 or 3.
Wait on the far right of the platform to NYC and you will have a much shorter walk to the subway/42nd street and be ahead of the crowd.
The station is a block from all the good restaurants and the green.
Leave extra time to buy tickets and Metro card
Don't sleep fall into a deep sleep on the train...you'll miss your stop
If you've got a few minutes before your train, go to Scratch bakery & grab something for your ride. Find it ob your phone. Holy hell it's great. Bread pudding muffin & monkey bread are insane.
On the train stuck
Buying a ticket on the train costs more. Buy it on the platform
Be nice to the conductors!!
Don't sit in the bathroom car
Free parking on weekends and pretty safe too.
