People tend to check in during these times:
Bike racks now available on both sides, indoor racks on southbound side. Newly installed bike lanes are great too!
Trains a frequently late. Do not pay attention to the parking allocation boards they are always wrong.
Don't forget your bag
Why is there only one bathroom open for the women. The toilets sometimes are stuffed up with toilet paper.
Mind the gap.
No outlets to charge phones while waiting? Bummer.
Be aware of track changes. There are flat panel TVs inside that show the next few trains leaving (destination, time it's leaving & the track number). Odd number tracks are on one side, even the other.
New metro north trains. Can plug in your phone, laptop or tablet in cool air instead of hot stuffy hair.
MTA's commitment to excellence leaves something to be desired. Sticking to schedules is completely optional.
No bathroom access. Are you serious!
Very good bagels sold on the New York bound side in the AM (along with coffee and other breakfast goods). Try the Jalapeño cheese bagel. This Jew has been converted to its glory!
Be sure to look closely at the "Silhouetted Faces and Period Pieces" exhibit installed by Duvian Montoya in the under-track passage.
It's not that bad here. Keep an eye on tracks when stopping here due to a transfer, they can get confusing in a rush. On a cold or hot day, it can be packed inside the station because it's pretty tiny
Very close to SoNo,easy access to all the bars and shops
Check out the digital sign called StopTips, located in the station cafe! It gives you accurate train times and local area tips! To get more info on StopTips check out Facebook and twitter! @stoptips
Pretty much barely one step above Stamford. Less suits so better
wish I had a monthly parking pass, but goodluck getting one!
Watch the gap, it's crazy when u get off the train!!
the train service is good not great not bad. good.
The guys at the coffee shop are awesome!
If you're at the train station, there's no news to go to the surrounding neighborhood. Unless you'll walk hom
The short walk toward SoNo offers many great dining options. Too bad you have to walk through The Hood to get there.
If you have to pee on the weekend, you're out of luck! All bathrooms are locked. I gotta pee.
The track sign arrows on the tracks are counter-intuitive. Track 5 appears to point at the track you're on but it really means you have to go back inside and underground. It's totally offed up.
Sadly, the surrounding neighborhood is rough. Luckily it's well lit, but never has much of a police presence. . . Even though the station is so close by.
Coffee shop guys and gals are really nice. Buy a coffer from them.
If it's late or not crowded when i leave, i bank on the ticket machine the gate not working and get my parking for free once i call the attendant & wait a few minutes. it's about 50/50
Track 5 is on the Westchester side, to the left when you exit the parking garage/indoor waiting area. It's short and tucked in beside the building; you have to step out onto the platform to see it.
A couple extra benches would be nice on the CT side...oh well.
For the morning commute, make sure the train starts in Sono, not New Haven, to guarantee yourself a seat.
On the CT there's a small cafe w beer and wine
The machines that process the daily parking tickets are notoriously unreliable. Best bet is to pay for your ticket in the morning (if you have time). I've found the reliability degrade at night.
