You'd think the people working here would know about passports and travel, yet they seemed very shocked to learn that before 9/11 people could travel certain places without a passport. Duh.
Long lines. Be prepared to wait. It's like something out of a movie too, with all the security.
Bring your patience & sense of humor. Leave the sob story at home...they've heard ALL of them & DONT care...
If you don't have an appt be here by 5 am (yes, that's FIVE IN THE MORNING) or you won't get one!!!
Oh and it's not even same day service. Bunch of crap!
The security Guards are extremely rude and unprofessional! I will never go to this place again. I would rather mail it in, then spend any time at that place!
Great experience Everyone was nice The place is clean and well organized
Be sure to check in on the 1st floor! Total check in and pick up time was approx. 3 hrs w/ a 4 hr TAT for same day pick up. Don't make a mistake on any form, otherwise it will be invalid!
Don't talk on your cell phone Inside the office or they'll kick you out.
Security guards were disrespectful. When I ask if I had to put my watch and belt inside the machine they guy was like. Have you ever been on a plane? Obviously I said no, have you? Then use your...
Mail my passport application and wait for it wasn't a luxury I could permitted myself to have otherwise I wouldn't come here ever. Be prepare to spend you whole day on this process. .
Made appointment, arrived on time, had my forms. Been waiting for over 1.5 hrs to pay. Don't come unless you REALLY have to. Those who can renew by mail should do so.....
Come prepared using guidelines from the website, have an appointment and completed forms and the process goes pretty smoothly. Employees were all very nice (except for 1 rude guard).
I understand why the security here is so tight. The experience is so miserable that I can definitely see someone going crazy. The only picture for this place on 4sq should be a giant middle finger.
Customer service here is shockingly bad. They are misleading, overpriced, don't care, and act like they're miserable. I can't believe my tax money pays for this place
Nightmare deep breaths and earplugs would help an hope u have games or something on ur cellphone to play on
Treat the State Department Security with respect and they'll return the favor. Remember they have to deal with pissy people all day long.
So far so good. In an out easily
Come with all appropriate documents! I was in and out in under thirty minutes. Very impressive!!!
The red tape here is enough to drive the most patient person insane.
1550 Biscayne Blvd can get you a passport photo: $10 per photo. The process takes approximately 10 minutes.
Bike rack on ground floor if Omni parking garage. 15th Street side
Parking at Omni $6 hour. Street parking at Biscayne BLVD and 15th ST is. $1.50 hour
Would love to see the state department security guards treat people with respect here.
If you arrive before 8am the line you up like a cattle car on the first floor of the parking garage. At least 25 people in line already at 7:30. So much for making an appointment.
Bad experience with entire process. Slow give you missleading info. Took me 3 months to renew an existing passport. Terrible customer service
This is the U.S. State Department location downtown. Come here if you need your passport issued ASAP! (Same day service!)
