Even though it's small and sometimes difficult to get a seat, the reward is totally worth it! Poutine week was a pretty amazing feat! Weekday lunch is a safer bet for seating than weekend.

Sure, get the sandwiches and smoked meat, everyone knows that, but just don't forget the poutine! And if you're lucky, maybe it's Poutine Week 😉 God bless, Poutine Week. Be prepared for a wait!

Hearty, meaty sandwiches and Montreal-style deli food (house-smoked meats, poutine, brisket) served deluxe. Make sure to get a pickle on the side and wash it all down with a good glass of wine. Read more

They serve excellent smoked meat sandwiches by day, and innovative takes on Jewish classics at night. Great neighborhood spot; also worth the schlep across the river. [Eater 38 Member] Read more

Have the smoked brisket (called smoked meat here) served traditionally on rye bread with a schmear of mustard, or chopped up & smothered on fries with cheese curds & gravy in the smoked-meat poutine. Read more

Wow! Best smoked meat (smoked brisket) sandwich I've ever had! Perfect smokiness with the kick of mustard. Brisket was tender and moist! Only wish was maybe toast the bread. 5/5

Canadians are really onto something with their gravy-and-cheese-covered poutine. We love the version at Brooklyn’s Mile End, which also incorporates the deli's famed pastrami-like smoked meat. Read more

I got a Reuben and shared a tasty chopped liver spread with my bf. The Reuben was corn beef and delicious, with a little bit of sweetness to it. Was craving more cheese cuz I like cheese!

This place is so authentically amazin. Ever felt the guilt of the famously un-Kosher combination of chicken salad and bacon? Here gribenes act in lieu of the pork and don't disappoint. So damn good..

Hit up Tuesday night for the smoked meat burger and poutine special. Hit up any other night to be equally happy and fulfilled. Brisket and corned beef are a knockout.

A must do for the lush Montreal bagels. If you want to buy some to take home don't forget to order online by Friday for Saturday delivery. Or order direct from St Viateur en Montreal.

A small place that serves incredible food. And all the reviews are all true. We had the poutine. Delish. Smoked meat hash, very good. But the chopped liver - BEST.

The poutine fries here are a must try. Incredibly decadent but worth the calories. The waiters always give solid beer pairing recommendations. Be sure to ask!

The smoked meat is delicious - glorious hand cut brisket that rivals Katz's. Fries & matzoh ball soup were both excellent. Place is tiny so go off-hours or get it to go & find a spot in the 'hood

The poutine really is legendary. Thick, just right fries, delicious gravy, and big cheese curds if that's your thing. Have it with a Gose sour beer.

Did you order the smoked meat poutine? No?!?!! Flag down the waiter and add it to your order, or live with regret for the rest of your life.

Look out Katz’s Deli, Mile End is making a name for itself in Brooklyn. Canadian chef-owner Noah Bernamoff’s place was instantly mobbed on account of the house made brisket served on rye.

The salad is great b/c it's not drowning in mayonnaise (a fate that often befalls whitefish salad). The bagels are "Montreal-style" which means slightly smaller (I don't mind) and less salty (I mind).

Poutine, smoked meat and pressed salami sandwich were all amazing. The wait wasn't that bad at all and it was worth it to sit and enjoy the poutine in house. Can't wait to go back and try more!

You must try the smoked meat sandwich, the poutine and the sour pickles. They are closed daily from 4.30-5.30. Not much in the way of seating, so be prepared to wait.

Get The Beauty: house-cured lox is silky & plush, w/ capers scattered across surface. Paper-thin shavings of purple onion on cream cheese provide a nice counterpoint to the more robust ingredients.
