    Even though it's small and sometimes difficult to get a seat, the reward is totally worth it! Poutine week was a pretty amazing feat! Weekday lunch is a safer bet for seating than weekend.

    Wow! Best smoked meat (smoked brisket) sandwich I've ever had! Perfect smokiness with the kick of mustard. Brisket was tender and moist! Only wish was maybe toast the bread. 5/5

    The Smoked Meat burger is topped with a fried egg, pickles, red onions, mustard-mayo, and American cheese on an onion roll. It's a giant mess, but the fallen-apart mess is still fun to eat. Read more

    I got a Reuben and shared a tasty chopped liver spread with my bf. The Reuben was corn beef and delicious, with a little bit of sweetness to it. Was craving more cheese cuz I like cheese!

    The poutine fries here are a must try. Incredibly decadent but worth the calories. The waiters always give solid beer pairing recommendations. Be sure to ask!

    A small place that serves incredible food. And all the reviews are all true. We had the poutine. Delish. Smoked meat hash, very good. But the chopped liver - BEST.

    A must do for the lush Montreal bagels. If you want to buy some to take home don't forget to order online by Friday for Saturday delivery. Or order direct from St Viateur en Montreal.

    The poutine really is legendary. Thick, just right fries, delicious gravy, and big cheese curds if that's your thing. Have it with a Gose sour beer.

    Had lunch here on a Tuesday afternoon - matzo ball soup & chicken liver with a nice beer. There was no wait for a table and our server was super nice.

    The smoked meat is delicious - glorious hand cut brisket that rivals Katz's. Fries & matzoh ball soup were both excellent. Place is tiny so go off-hours or get it to go & find a spot in the 'hood

    The salad is great b/c it's not drowning in mayonnaise (a fate that often befalls whitefish salad). The bagels are "Montreal-style" which means slightly smaller (I don't mind) and less salty (I mind).

    Poutine, smoked meat and pressed salami sandwich were all amazing. The wait wasn't that bad at all and it was worth it to sit and enjoy the poutine in house. Can't wait to go back and try more!

    You must try the smoked meat sandwich, the poutine and the sour pickles. They are closed daily from 4.30-5.30. Not much in the way of seating, so be prepared to wait.

    Get The Beauty: house-cured lox is silky & plush, w/ capers scattered across surface. Paper-thin shavings of purple onion on cream cheese provide a nice counterpoint to the more robust ingredients.
