I 💗 Monkey Bar!!
Best old fashioned in this area
Generally good food and drinks. The restaurant area is much nicer than the bar. Don't be fooled by the bar area and dismiss the food!
All business - enjoyed the scotch though.
Cocktails used to be better
Nuts and rye
Only spot I've ever found meatloaf sliders. Boom.
Old fashion drinkito mmh👌
OMG all I can say is "Bourbon Smash" ! Best Cocktail (a lil to pricey, but soooo good)
Reminiscent of a Parisian cafe, the prices are not shy. but neither are the portions.
Lovely, cosy bar - had a really good unoaked Chardonnay which was very reasonably priced
Attempt at fancy... Prices a bit high...
Hanging with Marc...
great atmosphere. food was good, not excellent. ran into Goldie hawn while at dinner. previous dinner Marc Jacobs was there. celebs like the vibe.
Beijing peach is great! Jasmine tea -infused vodka, white peach puree, lime juice ;)
Great place for cocktails, dinner or both. Great place for a business cocktail gathering as well...
Drinks for Peter's bday
Join the likes of F. Scott Fitzgerald, Dorothy Parker, and Fred Astaire by visiting this Manhattan institution (Also look for those figures on the Edward Sorel three-paneled mural on the back wall)
Try the Moscow Mule...yum!
Order the no problemo cocktail. Don't worry if its not on the menu
The bar menu at this clubby New York institution underwent an overhaul and now features delicious small plates and a great burger.
Bartender Brian hooks it up with some amazing cocktails. Come for the mixology leave for the bros. The only decent bar in Midtown. Ahmen.
The Monkey Gland cocktail is a must.
Cocktail maven Julie Reiner revamped the list and the bartenders. As has always been the case, the room is dark, romantic, and old school--a perfect place for fun rendezvous or a business drink.
It’s the kind of place someone with a serious reverence for nostalgic style would imagine: in fact, it was reopened in 2009 by Vanity Fair Editor Graydon Carter and his wife Anna.
Short rib garganelli is bonkers.
Something a little bit spicy and a little bit sweet: Chinatown Daiquiri with aged rum, muddled strawberries, ginger, honey, lime juice and sriracha
Great, old school New York. Go for the Monkey Gland - I mean, why not?
Gorgeous mid-town spot for lunch or dinner. Come here to feel like you're doing legit business deeds in the 1950s.
A very “Mad Men”-esque watering hole – especially when you get a perfectly made Manhattan, an interesting Monkey Gland or a sweet Southside Fizz.
Classy stylish bar
“Monkey Bar is a great place for a delicious meal and a midday martini, all while surrounded by celebrities and their agents at the other tables.” More at http://www.partyearth.com/venues/monkey-bar.
NY Foodie Reco: App: braised pork belly, crispy oyster & Hatch chile kimchee Dinner: Smoked fettucini, w/uni, Hackleback caviar & pickled shallot, Dessert: choc. mousse
The old fashioned cocktail here is phenomenal, I cannot stop thinking about it. The burger is doused in mayo and did not rock my world
Amazing mixologist even if the crowd's a bit stodgy
Try the Slow Cooked Farm Egg — no joke.
Sssh. It's a sanctuary. Let's keep it that way! :)
the decor is just fantastic. it's a pleasure just being here.
It may seem pretentious but go in with an open mind and read some Hemingway first. The food is good but some minor details are missing. Atmosphere is why you go.
And MAJOR waiter fail. No spoon for my friend having soup and no steak knife for me having steak.
The change in chefs is unfortunate and the service was the slowest ever. Another table left before getting food because it was taking so long.
Hot! What a great revival of a classic speakeasy.
It's all about the Southside Fizz, (London Style)!
