This was the first time I ever had an omakase, and what an experience that was. The food here is top notch, and the vibe was very chic yet welcoming.

The food is fine, but what you're really paying for is the ambiance. Good for romantic dinners if you're seated on the lanai.

Do yourself a favour and order the spicy Alaskan crab. It comes with a side of fries drenched with the same spicy sauce. Hands down best fries! Loved it so much we ordered the fries on its own!

Definitely a place to go to while in Waikiki. Service was very good and food was incredible. Tuna and foie gras are a must! The atmosphere also perfect, modern, chic and beautiful.

The sushi was delicious. The portions are small, but creatively prepared and presented. The prices were on the expensive side but worth it. Call ahead for reservations!

Try the tuna pizza for something different. Order their surf and turf and the red snapper. Both are very good.

Start with signature mai tai. Then the pork gyoza and beef carpaccio. Sashimi was fresh and delicious. I hope you run into the Chef!

They put forks directly on the table, not on the serviette. Duck duck duck was undercooked although we asked for everything well done. Rolls were too spicy. 18% gratuity was included in the bill.

So I've been here a lot while staying at The Modern. You can't go wrong. Surprisingly, this place has my favorite American breakfast (eggs cooked perfectly). Dinner: try the gyoza. Awesome Mai Tai.

The omakase is very good although I suspect you could save by ordering a la carte dishes and sharing as the a la carte dishes are bigger. Good selection if sake

Joseph is a great waiter- friendly & knowledgable. The hamachi carpaccio is highly inventive, but not much food at all. The yellowtail pastrami is to die for. Try the buri bop entree- it hits the mark
