One of TO’s best kept secrets. What makes the place so great is its simplicity. No razzle-dazzle. No elaborate menus. Just great food, made right before your eyes. Try the green onion pancake.
The dumplings are made fresh to order and taste great! Get the $1 bowl of soup to dip with, it tastes amazing.
Try the dumplings
My favorite items here are the Pork and Dill dumplings and the Green Onion pancake. The food is delicious and affordable. A definite must try. You will love it.
Toronto's BEST kept secret. just north of the main area of chinatown. the best dumplings in town. nothing special. just simple homemade chinese food!
Best wonton soup I've ever had!!!
our new favorite place for Chinese, period. Steamed and fried dumplings are awesome!! 2 can eat like pigs for around $25 and still take a doggie bag.
normally I would never trust an Asian place that hires white people but this place is kinda tasty
All dumplings, all the time. Can be a belly-filling one-trick pony, but they know what they're doing and they do it really well! Ask for sauces to round out the flavour excursion
Get the green onion pancakes with your dumplings!
Try the steamed whole wheat cabbage and pork. Beef steam buns are great too!
I've never seen lamb shumai in other dumpling spots....try it, it was tasty
So yummy and has really great prices! One person can eat enough to be full for about $10.
Be warned the dumplings are so good you can eat yourself into pain here! You have to try the green onion pancake
Mother Fucking Dumplings!!!!
Try the lamb siu-mai. So juicy.
Pork and chive dumpling. Steamed. It's the only way.
Best dumplings in toronto.
Obviously not a "best kept secret" since everyone knows about it & it's been there for ages. Don't be fooled.
No credit cards
You can buy fresh or frozen bags of dumplings to take home.
the melon dumplings are the best. go with a group and you'll be full on $12
Onion pancake is obvious choice. Also pan fried pork dumplings.
Da-lu soup is amazing
Love their onion pancakes!
Steer away from the jia jia mein!!
Very busy. Took forever to get our food. Also couldn't split our bill in the end. Definitely prefer take-out over eating in.
Been here lots of times. Favourite hangout in the area. Love the pork and chive dumplings. Make sure to order the green onion potato pancake as well!
Stick to the dumplings and pancakes, they were awesome!!
Really long wait for takeout. Order over the phone and pick up instead! Dumplings were amazing though!
The dumplings are a little bland. Be sure to add soy sauce/vinegar for flavour.
Vicky made me do it!
LOVE this place. Best handmade dumplings at an outlandish price!
Beef and onion roll, melon shrimp and pork pan fried, pork and green onion steamed. Best thing on Spadina aside from the ruler; Kings noodle house
For me, Mother's Dumplings is all about the pan fried pork and chives dumplings.
Pork and dill are the best.
Vastly overrated on Yelp. Came once and will never again. Sadface.
$2.50 beer for happy hour, m-f before 6pm. Great with a big plate of dumplings.
Try the Chives & Egg Filled Pancakes (via @Foodspotting)
I feel this place isn't quite what it used to be a year or so ago. Having said that it's still a pretty solid dumpling house.
Fantastic dumplings.. Incredible prices, definitely a must try I'd you are in the area and looking for yummy comfort foods
The pan-fried dumplings are the best. Skip the boiled.
Dumpling House in my opinion, is a better option.
Eat in and then buy them fresh or frozen to bring home! Always a stop for me when passing through china town :)
Not bad. Nice atmosphere & decent dumplings. However not much variety in dumplings & you can't mix & match. Def prefer Dumpling House.
Take frugality to the next level with a large bowl of Northern-style wonton soup for $3.50. And try the tomato-egg soup and zhajiang mian (Chinese spaghetti) for an undiluted hit of the old country.
great dumplings. questionable service.
Mother's dumpling is decent enough if ur starving and its closer to get to than dumpling house =p
