Mount Rushmore National Memorial is visited by nearly three million people each year that come to marvel at the majestic beauty of the Black Hills of South Dakota and learn about the birth, growth, development and preservation of the country.
A neat stop on a road trip but not worth the massive detour or the $11 parking fee at the memorial.
Amazing to see and cheap
Nice evening lighting ceremony. Beautiful tribute to active military and veterans.
Walk around the park! There's a trail that takes you closer to the monument, a must see! Also, if you drive on by car it's $11 for a year pass!
Epic monument - beautiful details. Checkout the video show at night - its very nice.
Rushmore is impressive but hard to spend more than 1 hour hear and annoying they charge for parking even with a NPS yearly permit
Exactly what you'd expect. But better!
You can take your dog up to where you can see the monument to take a pic but not into park.
Smaller than I expected, but still cool to see
Park outside the auto gate and walk in cause paying to park for the 10 minutes you'll spend here is dumb.
Eat the ice cream and take the "strenuous" trail
Great American history!! So, so crowded, though. Definitely get some ice cream!
You can buy beer here.
Makes you think... God Bless America!
AWESOME!!! A must do.
You could spend 20 minutes here and feel like you've seen everything. It's a check-this-off-the-list type place.
Only $11 to park here and enjoy the site
Pretty amazing big place. Take your family and get here now.
Visit between 8-Noon for the best lighting!
An amazing sight to see
I was expecting a much more noisy and commercial place. Instead it was well made, lots of information presented in a tasteful way. Clean and nice architecture. And proper quality in shops. Go there!
It's still really nice to see in winter and there are lots of things to do in the surrounding area. Plan to be around for a couple of days!
1000% worth the trip. Stay in keystone so you can come back to watch the evening show and see the monument lit up.
It can get crowded with large tour groups.
Beside the monument itself and video historyn sure to check out both the gift shop and the book store! Also, tasty food in the Carver's Cafe
Favorite president? Teddy Roosevelt.
Amazing to see, and the Thomas Jefferson vanilla ice cream is the best!
Take the presidential trail down to the artists studio for amazing views and a separate national parks pass cancelation.
This is a must for everyone's bucket list. In my opinion, the night "light show" is NOT worth coming back to see.
If you're only here for a quick photo and want to avoid the parades of tourists, there's a free parking pullout on the upward slope. It's very small and only fits 5-6 autos.
Check out the gift shop if you want some sweet souvenirs!
Everything is great here. Both the monument and the park leave you speechless. Such a wonderful place to spend some good quality time.
The gift shop has amazingly cheesy stuff! :) Lots of interesting stuff to look at.
The ice cream is delicious but HUGE sizes!! Not bad priced.
$11 fee for "parking" at the top. They accept credit cards. Parking Level 3 is easiest but not covered.
If you are reading this, STOP what you are doing and go to CRAZY HORSE. It literally dwarfs Mount Rushmore.
Try the Thomas Jefferson ice cream.
show up 30 minutes after the Sun Goes Down to see a spectacular light show......
Contrary to what has been said credit cards ARE accepted. I used a Visa for park entrance and an Amex for Gift Shop (next to cafe) purchses.
A cold day but the presidents don't seem to mind
Appeared in National Treasure: Book of Secrets (2007) as the site of the hidden Aztec gold.
Parking, gift shop, museum, and cafe took plastic. ATM in the gift shop.
The great state of South Dakota !
Avoid on holidays !
It's not a single attraction - there's lots to do and see! Plan on spending at least two or three hours exploring.
Worth the view of the video! But, if you have large hips/are heavy set don't expect to be comfy. Seats in theater are made for smaller people. Gorgeous!
A must see that should be on everyone’s bucket list, amazing experience...
The stone presidents cannot hear your crying.
