Our two locations hold the largest collection of historic air & space objects in the world. In DC, see the original Wright 1903 Flyer, Apollo 11 Command Module "Columbia," and touch a Moon rock. Check out our Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly, VA, home to the Space Shuttle Discovery.
Amazing experience, from air balloon to space shuttles. A must
So many historic aircraft in one place - just amazing. A real celebration of human endeavours.
Really cool museum, I think we all gravitated towards the space stuff, no pun. Would've paid to see this but glad all museums are free in DC.
Fantastic museum relating to air travel and space exploration. Very scientific and incredibly informative! A DC must!
Get an astronaut pen from the gift shop
For those who loves airplanes
Join one of the free tours, they're frequent and totally worth it, guides very knowledgable too.
So many Asians with iPads! 😉
You have to try the air-combat simulator, it goes 360 degrees!
All about the plane
Great aircraft on display
If you love planes and outer space this is the place for you...!!!
The planetarium is awesome!
A must visit if you go to the Mall.
Look for the interactive stations and exhibits - some great opportunities to learn about space travel
It's amazing. Must see
Free admission and lots to learn! Great for families and those interested in aircrafts
Totally love it! The museum is stunning, everything is organized in a fun way. A great place to learn and have fun.
Come early and go to the Virginia site.
Gotta check out the space shuttles. Discovery is huge!!
Get a tour with Robin Erskine. You could fill an entire series of encyclopedias with the stuff he knows. Best tour I've ever had!
Is the best museum in DC
If you only have time to do one Museum, this is the one to go to. If you have time the one at Dulles is even better!
It's free and a lovely experience for kids
It's the most popular museum in DC, second most popular in the world (after the Louvre). Definitely go on off hours.
I absolutely love the historical modules they have there and especially the flight simulations they were so much fun and I love how they have the Apollo 11 module remake at the entrance.
Great stuff for the entire family
A little dated
Awesome all I can say
Enjoyed the entire place
Better for a children than adults. Houston space museum is much better
Crowded, but to be expected in tourist-heavy DC. Plenty of intriguing exhibits, give yourself plenty of time!
As you explore, make sure you pay a visit to The Spirit of St. Louis, the world famous aircraft that took Charles Lindbergh on the first non-stop flight from New York to Paris in 1927.
Very cool and fun for all ages!
Always packed and not as good as I expected.
Go to the bathrooms upstairs. They are less crowded.
This place was awe-mazing
Nerd heaven. I love everything about this place.
Needless to say that is the best museum in DC. At least for the engineers like me..
Best museum ever.
Great museum, mandatory visit if you are in DC
Probably 2nd most popular Smithsonian.Free to public, but IMAX costs $12, but significant discount if you get Smithsonian membership which is only $12 for whole family.Check out the Flight Simulators.
Love this museum! One whole day is not enough here! There's too much to see!!!
This was an awesome place. I have to come back here.
I love the fly simulator! You turn completely in your seat.
Spirit of St. Louis. Don't forget to touch the moon rock.
