    Too many tribes...and not enough space for the details I would have liked to read about. I feel like you can through the whole space in an hour or so.

    Conveniently located in a touristy area. You can get drinking water and bathroom access for free, and probably check one or two interesting exhibitions by the way

    Fantastic little museum- hidden gem. Easy to get to on green and red line. Their gift shop is FILLED with my dream jewelry collection! Small but great little museum.

    I was pleasantly surprised by this museum. It's small and free so you get through it quickly but I loved the temporary exhibitions featuring contemporary artists.

    Free admission. Beautiful huge vaulted center room. Comfortable seating, nice collection. I stop in whenever I'm nearby for a quick 10 minute look. Infinity of Nations is best current exhibit.

    Look for the arrows that belonged to Ishi, last survivor of the Yahi tribe, who spent his last years living in the San Francisco Museum of Anthropology.

    I was unaware that this museum was targeted by al Qaeda. There is full on, take your belt off, security theater here. Bullshit.

    Not too crowded so you can enjoy looking at the exhibits. Only allowed to take photos in the center exhibit

    The line through the main entrance can be long. As an alternative, look for the street-level, side entrance for a swifter entry.

    Not family friendly at all. No eating allowed anywhere in the museum and not simple to go eat outside because of security checkpoints with metal detectors. Don't come here with kids.

    Worth checking out if you enjoy history and FREE. Beautiful building. Good exhibit on American Indian's in music incl clips of Hendrix and others in a mini theatre.
