Favorite museum in DC. Love the President's Gallery.
Read the information of each painting, you'll find out how portraits were made for advertising & fund raising!
Do not throw away your shot to find Alexander Hamilton.
Exhibits are great and it stays open late!
Excellent galleries, specially the President's section. Also do t miss the photography section and special exhibitions. Great museum shop as well.
Also the art statues and paintings were amazing.
The court yard was beautiful even though it was dark outside. The lights lit the place up beautifully.
This was a great place to go to. Liked it. Thought a family member said they had found something in the newspaper about a art piece and we never found it.
Kogod Courtyard and cafe is great for a breather, but saw no accessible outlets to recharge your smartphone, tablet or laptop while you recharge.
Check the Presidential Portraits exhibition - I loved it!
Very chill place to read look at art
The Presidents' Portrait Gallery is a must-see in DC.
The courtyard is one of my favorite places in dc
Though it's central in the hustle and bustle of DC, once inside, it seems like a world away! Sit down and enjoy the indoor courtyard and catch an event inside, when they are available!
The modern and contemporary art section on the top floor is fantastic.
Fabulous variety of historical and cultural portraits in a range of styles! Chuck Close's portrait of President Bill Clinton is great.
Take one of their docent tours! It's free and totally worth it!
Every President gets a portrait on the 2nd floor.
Boring but at least there is WiFi.
Twinned with the Smithsonian American Art Museum. Mind your staircases. (Go all the way to the top to see some quieter galleries.)
The place to see the official Presidential portraits... and Stephen Colbert near the entrance by the restrooms if they haven't moved him already.
Beautiful museum with stunning portraits of the presidents and other notables
Roam through the presidential portraits and be sure to tune into the video exhibit highlighting some of the most famous speeches in American history.
The national portrait Gallery is free daily from 11:30 AM.
Check out the variety of portraits they have at the National Portrait Gallery. You'll be surprised with what you'll find.
Looking for a place to have a meeting? This is it!
Great for people with different tastes. One side (west side) is traditional art, while other side (east side) is modern. Very interesting.
The atrium in the middle is a great beautiful free work space.
Love the Richard Estes Realism exhibit on at the moment. Time Magazine covers of the '60s were okay.
Absolutely my favorite smithsonian museum in DC. Beautiful indoor courtyard with amazing architecture. Gorgeous exhibits all the time. the 3rd floor is the best with its modern art!
Don't miss the portrait of Stephen Colbert by the bathroom.
Always worth stopping in. Great permanent collection and temporary exhibits.
See all the portraits that you have seen in textbooks and Tv.
Was pleasantly surprised - especially by the more modern exhibits.
One of my fav museums in DC. I love having lunch in the Kogod Courtyard.
Love this museum specially the modern part. One of the better art museum in the city.
Folk art. Is art done by one with no training
The black obelisk (Untitled) is a portal--get up close and you can see tiny stars. It's not dust. Now you can sound like you "get art."
I love the portrait of the lady Justices.
The American Cool exhibit is pretty, you guessed it, COOL!!!
The "experience America" exhibit is great.
Honestly? I ran in here at first to use a restroom. Then I got captivated, so I texted my friend and we spent an hour here. I think that says something.
Spectacular. A must!!
Really enjoyed "American Cool"
Nice exhibit... free A/C! Lol.
Check out The American Cool Exhibit, the picture of Bill Clinton and really take the time to see the Luce Foundation Center.
