What a fabo museum, #Free and well worth the visit. FYI the dinosaur exhibition is super packed no working air con, so will get very stuffy and warm in busy parts. £50 to feed a family of 4 @ Cafe.

On the last Friday of every month the museum stays open late with wine available in one of the galleries until 10:30. You also can eat in the delicious-smelling restaurant on the ground floor.

Kids will definitely love the dinosaurs exhibits. To avoid the queues, use the 'secret' entrance on Exhibition Road. Do pop over to the Science Museum and V&A Museum which are just round the corner.

Beautiful building, interesting exhibits, but very outdated. Some exhibits showed present-day as 1990 and still has Pluto as a planet. Worth going because of the amazing architecture and surroundings.

It's just great, go see the big Blue Whale. But it brings in massive crowds for the dinosaurs on weekends and holidays, try next doors V&A or Science Museum, both are outstanding experiences.

Visit on a weekday afternoon to reduce the risk of encountering large crowds, especially school parties. Consider buying a guide and being selective about what you view – there is so much to see!

SALGADO: Avoid v long ticket queue by using the butterfly show ticket kiosk on the green outside museum & then go straight in past everyone. A museum guard kindly told me this & saved me over 30mins.

The Natural History Museum always has a lovely ice-rink for the kids to skate around. Although it doesn't exactly snow every winter in London, on the ice rink you certainly get false hope that it may.
