People tend to check in during these times:
Outdoors, Escalators are towards the front of the station. Bus, metro, marc and Amtrak are all here and there is big garage to park in.

You can park in the reserved spaces beginning at 10 am if / when the other parking spaces are filled. I called to verify this last week before doing so.
Fastest way to get to irs
If you're dropping someone off, please pull into one of the parking spaces meant for that. When you stop in the middle of the road to let someone and their six bags unload, you create a huge jam.
Prices for snacks in the vending machines have increased tremendously. Animal crackers jumped from $1 to $1.60!

If your a slow mover stay to the right and make way for the cheetahs!

A glass of wine everyday is good for the blood stream....
Ders a little cafe to buy stuff in the amtrax wating area
Amtrax stations only allow people bording their train to sit in the wating area even in the winter
In the morning if you're moving like you have no place to be, stay to the right on the stairs and escalators!!!! Please :-)
Not a very entertaining train station bring a book.
Believe it or not, trains stop in the SAME spot @ EVERY station. So line up with a door from the previous train on the platform and get first dibs on the next!

If you arrive between 8-9am park on the Rt. 50 side by Corporate Drive. On the 450 side the further back you park, it's likely your car may be broken into.
Trygoing to the very first or very last car to get seats even during peak times.
The metro station and the Amtrak station are on the same site though their services are in separate areas, and the addresses are techically different.
This station services Metrobuses, Metrorail, Amtrak and Matc trains. However if you anticipate a long layover, or don't need to stop in MD, consider using Union Station instead.
When you're coming back from the city, the blue and orange lines are services by one train until the transfer point- so don't fall asleep! It's very easy to misse the transfer.
if you transfer here always plan for a late metro just in case. MARC trains will not wait. seems obvious but you would be suprised how many people miss trains because of the metro
If you're just going to Baltimore, think about taking the MARC. Less comfy at peak time, but cheaper.
This is one of the MD metrorail stations where you can catch or connect with Amtrak - short cheap and comfy trip to the BWI airport, Baltimore.
