Sea salt pool is awesome
Best location of NYHRC!
A perfect place to improve your mental and physical health since 1973. There’s swimming, spinning, aerobics, boxing, and more. We love the Hatha Yoga Class Thursdays at 5:45. Namaste!
Wifi is non existent, but the locker rooms are clean.
Wifi here is a major problem.
I will never understand why the men's toilets don't have ventilation fans
Friendly staff! Personal trainers have really helped me... And the classes are a fun way to work out. My favorite classes are Urban rebounding and anything with Levi if you want a hard workout
If you like DJ Harvey, take spin with Russel on Monday nights.
The chain offers its members a yoga studio, whirlpool, personal trainers, babysitting, a swimming pool, a kickboxing ring, and more.
Go before work, after 8PM or weekends to beat crowds
My top favorite workouts: Urban Rebounding on Mondays and Yoga at 5 pm on Sundays. Great gym... I just wish they would have more equipment cleaning supplies throughout the gym.
Beware! Taking photos in the women's locker room is frowned upon.
Lovin those automatic drinking fountains!
be sure to have some Whey Isolate after a grueling workout; your body will thank you later!
Now has wifi that actually works in all parts of the gym!!
One of the best fitness clubs in the city
Kali is one of the best trainers here.
The Hatha yoga class on Thursday at 5:45p with Robert is exceptional. He'll correct mistakes you've been making for years.
Great place to work out. Can be intimidating because there are definitely lots of attractive people. If you live in The Caroline, call Pan Am and ask for a free membership.
Great Personal Training staff! I definitely recommend getting a trainer for faster results! Nice club, very clean!
Great place on 23rd street.. Pushy staff to do personal training classes.
If you want a personal trainer, ask for Taj. He is the bomb diggity, and knows how to make you feel ok about having broad shoulders.
Critics' Pick winner of The Village Voice Best of NYC 2012 Best Gym
Not all that impressed by the new change in management. Place is lacking the joyful energy it used to have.
So many exercise options to choose from! Boxing, swimming, spinning, aerobics, and trainers galore. Best gym value in NYC.
They added TRX suspension and Rip Trainers next to the boxing ring.
Used to have to force myself to go to spin/cycle classes but Doug is amazing. I now look forward to it.
When booking personal training sessions, ask to see Will Classen! He's very good and you won't be sorry!
Play air drums on the treadmill!
The best NYHRC in the city for many different reasons. My favorite reason? The locker room is pristine. No odors. That's so important.
it was sweltering in there tonite. i was sweating after walking on the tredmill for 2 mins. it's normally on the warm side where the tredmills & other machines are. wish they kept it cooler in there
Try the UFC fighting gloves in the chest by the raised mats. You can box and do workouts without having to take them off!
Wish they'd put in WiFi
Use the ring and the heavy bag for a serious boxing workout. Ask for Kalvin.
nice club, but shouldn't it be called 'ny health and NO racquet club'?
Creep central after 8pm
Anthony is one of the greatest massage therapists ever!
Good gym for the money. The trainers can be creepy when the roam the floor looking for new clients- and there is always at least 2-3 cardio machines that are broken
Arguably the largest NYHRC location. Better weight machines than Astor/Cooper but less arc trainers :/
The laundry service isn't worth it anymore.
Great yoga class with Sylvia on Thursday nights and warm yoga with Jude on Saturday afternoons. Namaste
Check out the Hatha Yoga class Thursdays at 5:45! It's one of our favorites.
best gym in NYC along with DB
Cleanest gym I've been to and only 89 bucks a month and that's only for a 6 month membership. Best gym I've been too.
The roof deck is always empty and quiet; perfect for reading or working.
Loving the MSG network on treadmills!
[NYC] The breathing exercises in a Warm Yoga class are the perfect complement to a cleanse (Pick-up location): http://nyhrc.com/locations/23rdst.html
