The Jerome S. Coles Sports Center, which opened in September 1981, is the hub of student's recreational and athletic needs. Coles accommodates a wide range of individual and group recreational sports and fitness activities.
During NYU's Club Fest it's insanely hot. No AC. Maybe that's why it's being demolished in October 2015.
Larger than Palladium though older. Better for weightlifters, not as good for cardio. Saunas in the locker rooms
I'm playing squash
The best gym on campus hands down.
And it's a great way to stay in shape
No a/c in the weight room. Gets real hot with just fans.
Older than palladium and tv on machines dont have any live channels, but overall pretty good. There is a second cardio room downstairs by the courts
cute bballers in the evening.
$5 to watch a college basketball games here is one of the best sports deals in town!
Don't come at night. Just don't. Too many humans.
Guest passes are $10, you need a valid photo ID, cash only, and must be exact change. Yes, we know it's archaic.
Home to the Fall 2013 Club Fest!
Security guards are useless and lazy- this goes for not all but most of them
As the main athletic facility of NYU, Coles houses giant swimming pools, courts, fitness rooms, and a rock climbing wall. Neighbors in the area can gain access as a “Community Member.”
Use LifeScape Option while jogging. It's awesome !!! (:
Cool down in the summer. Swim in the pool!
OMG was that a ROACH!!!!!!
Hey ladies! Watch out for the naked grandmas in the sauna. You will be scared for life!!
Relay For Life at NYU 2013 ...Saturday, May 4, 2013 5:00 PM - 5:00 AM ...Donate or Take part...
Cardio room on 2nd floor wreaks sweaty grandpas
The third shower stall in the Women FH locker room has the BEST water pressure !
Tip the monitors when signing in a guest or having a question answered. They deserve it.
Literally just saw a mouse run by near the rock climbing walls. I'll be going to Palladium from now on...
Cardio room is on the second floor and weight machines are on the first floor.
Great fitness facilities... there're no excuses why you can't stay fit while busy studying at NYU!
Aquatic-based exercise is really joint-friendly yet quite challenging; add some swimming to your routine today!
Essential NYU: Attend a "Tear It Up!" game for a free t-shirt. You will get great seats.
Don't drink the water....ever.
Just go to the beach, beach! Just go away! I say what I'm gonna say! Have a drink, clink!
Try not to drown too far from me. I don't want to do any extra work.
Walk, don't run.
Swimming here is great. Be aware of the speed designations for each lane. Stop at the ends to let faster swimmers pass and switch lanes if necessary.
Sign up for the recreation classes, they're pretty good.
Lift the weights, they're heavy.
All the machines have input for tv but no cable... What gives?
Palladium is way better
Coles > Palladium
Make sure the lifeguard isn't sleeping!
were there this many swimmers here last semester?? I don't remember having to share a lane so often...
Don't come anytime around 5-7 if you don't want to fight for a machine or pool time.
The pool here is only 4 feet deep. Although sometimes you can use the smaller diving pool when nobody is training there. Go to Coles, they have 13 feet deep pool!
It's beastly hot in all save the cardio room. NYU saving on the AC.
The weight room area would be much better if there were more adjustable benches and if the dumbbells went up to 120lbs. Currently there is only one adjustable bench for the entire gym!
I would like to work out and relax
