The History Center houses the collection of the Historical Society of Central Florida, Inc. in three floors of dynamic permanent exhibitions that take visitors on a journey through the region’s fascinating 12,000 year history, as well as nationally important, limited-run exhibitions.

Love this place! It's in a beautifully maintained 1927 building and is chock full of fun stuff you probably didn't know about Central Florida!
Can do in about 2-3 hours. Closes early, so make sure you give yourself enough time. They always have pretty good exhibits here.
We love visiting the Centers permanent exhibit 'Destination Florida', a look back at tourism in Central Florida before theme parks!
Great place to take your children to learn their history.
I left here feeling like Disney corrupted Orlando forever.

Inexpensive and very cool!! This used to be the courthouse for Orlando. Lots of history on how Orlando came to be a tourist area.

Such a great place to see Florida's history! Make sure to check out Universal's exhibit that changes with each season in 2013 and features the entire process from design and creation to production.
