The local NSB-train is less expencive than "Flytoget" and taxi, and it often gets you to the center Oslo about as fast as the "Flytog".

Check the bottoms of seats for plugs (some have them), also found by wall at Gate 39 by the Yo Sushi

If you wanna get to Oslo, the best option is to buy ticket to the NSB train by application Ruter or NSB. In this case you spend almost twice less than by Flytoget and get free ticket in Oslo for 2,5h.

Sushi at the Yo! conveyer-belt sushi restaurant in the international departure hall (close to gates 38-39) was very, very good. And expensive, but so is everything in Norway.

A well organised airport. If you are a smoker - bad news, only outside. Best way to get to and from town is Flytog. Taxi is expensive. Flytog stops also at Lilleström. Convenient for expo visitors.

Take the Nor-Way bus express to anywhere in Oslo. Departure every 20 minutes, clean and comfortable coaches. Unless your destination is near a railway station, it's cheaper and quicker than the train.

Hide from all the noise and stress by grabbing a bite at Sinnataggen. Great food! Also, if you don't want to stand in line for using the restrooms, Sinnataggen is the place to go.

Known to be the strongest wooden ship ever built; at Fram Museum you can go on board the ship and see how the crew survived in the coldest and most dangerous places on earth. A must visit.

You can take the Flybussekspressen (Express Bus) instead of train. Stops in many bus stations in Oslo. Cheaper if you buy a ticket online. Free wifi. Ask at the info office or visit nor-way.no

For first impressions this airport sets a tone that Norway ain't got their shit together. Passport control is ridiculous. When asking the agent how long the wait is- his response "a long time."

When arriving at the top of the stairs at the departure Hall, do a sharp left turn. The check-in machines there have way shorter queues than the others which you would see straight ahead.

Don't waste money on the Airport express train - regional trains depart towards the city center frequently, are just as fast and cost almost half the price. Staff at the NSB counter is happy to help.

For a city like Oslo, Flytoget (airport express train) isn't priced too badly. It's cheaper than Stockholm's Arlanda Express at only NOK340 (£38) vs SEK500 (£50) return. Half-price for students.

Efficiënt and clean. Best way to get to the city centre is taking the regular train. (The express train is much more expensive and doesn't save you that much time)

Once you go from the domestic to the international gates, there is no more decent food - unless you want greaseballs from Pizza Hut. So when hungry hang around in the domestic area for a bit.

Long layover? The bathrooms down the stairs next to the fine salmon shop have bigger vestibules with private sinks in each for cleaning up. Kinda hidden but such a good find.

ISIC cards are acknowledged on the Flytoget express train. With the student's discount price you can get to the centre of Oslo in <20 minutes for 85 NOK. Plugs are available on board of the train. Read more

Ther are a few sleepingchairs in the arrivals. Aim for the cafe on the 2nd floor, near security check. You can stretch, it's quiet, warmer and the staff doesn't kick you out (unlike Starbucks)

If you are a student of an institution that uses an eduroam hotspot, you may be able to get some signal here. That way you don't need to log-on to other hotspots.

Not a bad airport. There are two lounges after security, and the gates are organised. Getting there is definitely made easy by the airport express train, which takes only 20 minutes from the city.

When leaving on an international flight, walk to the left to avoid the horrible, perfume smelling, full of bright lights and nagging advertisements and cosmetics pushing tax free. Aaaah, serenity now.

If possible use the self service check-in by the entrance. You'll get your boarding card & luggage tag, just drop your luggage at the luggage drop point. It's easier & faster than ordinary check in!
