Heart of the Italian Market
Fried lasagna sandwich. Died and gone to heaven.
Amazing sandwiches with really unique ingredient combos. The Gustaio with home-made lamb sausage and red sun-dried cherries on mint crispy flatbread was phenomenal. Can really recommend this place !!
The gustaio! Bolognese.
The namesake and arista are both incredible. Pretty much can't go wrong here. And there's a pretty good sandwich with fried lasagna in it.
The paesano is a thing of beauty- messy but beautiful. Perhaps my favorite sandwich in Philadelphia
This is where you'll find my favorite roast pork sandwich, the Arista w/ broccoli rabe, long hots and sharp provolone. It may be sacrilege to say, but this beats out DiNic's for me.
Had the classic Arista. Delicious despite Mets fans in the building.
Get the Paesano or the Bolognese. Both are rad.
They are cash-only now due to increasing price of credit card fees.
Come hungry. Big sandwiches!
The United States has the best sandwiches of any country. Philly has the best sandwiches in the country. Paesanos has the best sandwiches in Philly. Ergo Paesanos has the best sandwiches in the world.
1of2 Try one of Peter McAndrews’ famous sandwiches. Arista, Paesano, Gustaio. Their potatoes are roasted in duck fat and are smothered in provolone cheese. OMG.
1of2 Try one of Peter McAndrews’ famous sandwiches. Arista, Paesano, Gustaio.
Get the Giardina - for both vegetarians and meat eaters alike
Awesome pork and broc rabe
don't get cute. get the Paesano. eat something healthy tomorrow.
Best Gluten free Hoagie by far! Try the Tuna Italiano no cheese. 👌
Italian market birthday!!
The most epic sandwiches ever. Like ever. My favorite is the Bolognese, a fried lasagna (yes this is real) sandwich. Also check out the Paesano, the Arista, the Daddy Wad, and the veggie sandwiches.
You could easily split one of these enormous filling sandwiches...but why? Get the Paesano.
Best sandwiches in the world, seriously.
The liveracce sandwich is so damn good. You'll be doing yourself an injustice if you didn't.
Nothing on the liverrace sounds like it goes together until you taste it. Possibly the best sandwich I've ever eaten.
The Gustaio is a sandwich to build a dream on.
Pork sandwich was dynamite. Brisket pretty good too, would benefit from a thicker cut. Mmmmm
These sandwiches put the cheesesteak to shame. Get the Arista with roast suckling pig and wash it down with a root beer.
The Bolognese, which layers fried lasagna with red sauce, smoked mozzarella, roasted peppers, sharp provolone, and a sunny-side-up egg, will make you forget all about those touristy cheesesteaks.
Anthony Bourdain stopped by Paesano's while in Philadelphia filming for his show The Layover. He and his crew tried four sandwiches: The Liveracce, the Gustaio, the Arista, and the Paesano.
I would like to attempt to try every sandwich on the menu. So good!
Go for the roasted suckling pig, provolone, and broccoli rabe in the "Arista". For an Italian cold-cut, go for the "Daddy Wad," packed with mortadella, salami, sopresatta, cappacolla and prosciutto.
Don't ask for ketchup...unless you want to shame yourself.
Go for the meatloaf parm
Order the Paesano, the Arista, or the Bolognese. Take out-of-towners here to blow their minds. [Eater 38 Member]
RC Cola on tap. Instant classic. Get the Liveracce or the classic Paesano. Seriously impressive.
One the best sandwich shops in the Italian market in south Philly. There crispy meatloaf Parmesan sandwich is out of this world.
Favorite hoagie in town. Don't even bother anywhere else.
The Arista- "whole roast suckling pig with broccoli rabe and sharp provolone!. Need I say more?
Oh God. Deliciousness. Get anything. You'll love it.
These are honestly some of the best sandwiches in town. And this is a sandwich town.
Another favorite: Daddy Wad marries mortadella with pistachios, genoa salami, sopressata, capicola, prosciutto and sharp provolone with arugula, tomatoes, onions and sweet and hot peppers.
Paesano’s sandwich shop is decidedly new-school thanks to chef Peter McNamara’s flourish: The Tuna Italiana throws herb-cheddar spread, hard-cooked egg, roasted tomatoes, arugula & chips into the mix.
Pretty good, but make sure you've tried Pat's first!
They take credit cards now w/ a $20 min and + $0.25/sandwich
Two words. Meatloaf Parm. Try it
Get in right now! Skips Pat's, Geno's, Jim's and other tourist traps.
Think Slow Food in Italian Nonna’s kitchen with loud Irish roots...Crazy-delicious combos like the pulled roast suckling pig with broccoli rabe, Italian longhots and sharp provolone.
