Disney castle for grown ups 😀
The best palace in Europe
Fairy tail castle, very colorful, unusual and cool, but windy
Everything is good here
Words cannot describe the magnificent beauty that is Pena. If there is one thing you do in Sintra, make it this.
Beautiful but dificult hike to the castle
Make sure to wear sneakers cause there's lots of walking & hilly! Make sure to take bus shuttle to palace ... Too long a walk!
The park has a lot of small foot-paths. No need to spend your time on the main road: look around :)
Absurd architecture, refreshing.
Beautiful castle! Use the transfer buses from Sintra city center, a round trip costs 5 EUR.
Great views, lots of tourists
Entrance to the castle and park is 14eur, the palace is literally like from a fairy tale, it's one of the most gorgeous things I've seen in Portugal. It's a must in Sintra!
Be prepared to walk a lot. The park is huge and beautiful.
Do not skip the terrace during the visit
Remember the view is much better after climbing! Don't take a bus. Look for black swans in a lake :)
Worth the commute from Lisboa! Must see.
Beautiful palace, well worth the hike. You thought you were up high when on top of the castelo, then suddenly you're looking down upon it.
Hiking, colorful, like Disneyland, funny, huge history and panoramic views
Alaattin the Genie's Castle in the sky...stolen from Arabia not be found in rural Lisbon...
One of the attractions in your visit to Sintra. It's recommended to buy the combined entrance in Palacio Nacional, which includes other castles in Sintra, save money and don't wait for the queues.
Such a beautiful place. NOT just the palace but also the village of Sintra. If you are in Lisbon for a visit don't forget to see Sintra and this palace.
Like you are in fairytale
The Pena Palace stands as a perfect example of the romantic architecture that can be found in Sintra.
Climb from the lakes area up to the palace and enjoy the park full of exotic trees. The palace is a must-see .
Don't waste your money on visiting the palace or whatever it is.The garden and Atlantic view are all it takes.Simply spectacular.
The inside of the palace is a typical museum with a set path. The outside and the rest of the garden is way more interesting to explore.
Awesome to walk around the palace in the park. You can just walk on the palace for free, so you don't really NEED to buy a ticket for that.
Take the lake entrance to feel the amazing atmosphere and climb inside mystique forest til' you see the beautiful castle with lovely colors up there. Being there is like a fairytale. 💜
Nice palace....should stay overnight for a worth visit of many places in Sintra....
Take the 434 bus return ticket 5 euros on the right outside of sintra train station. Buy tickets on board. Don't even attempt to walk. 12 euro to get in. Another 3 for a bus up the hill. Pricey.
Very crowded at the palace, but you can get away easily by walking the grounds.
You hate tourist crowds? Then don't so this. You love pittoresque castles with moorish elements? Do it anyways!
The weather is amazing. Take your time to breathe
finding a place to park is difficult so park by the lagos lakes and walk 10 min to the entrance of the palace.. then get the bus which comes every 15 min to drop u straight at the palace's doors..
avoid the sun heat in the summer and go there late afternoon to make th best of the outdoor places.. enjoy the view from the above and the take a look at the old interior design of the palace's rooms.
Bring sneakers and water if you're walking up from Sintra.
It is like a fairy tale castle, you should definitely see it!
Honestly, not so great. I would do montserrat and regaleira instead of this overcrowed palace. The gardens are ok but not crazy thought.
There is a car that can take you around the park. Same as the mini bus drop off point for castle entrance on top. Car comes every 25mins, worthwhile as the park area is too big unless you have time
Go as early as possible to avoid the horrific crowd, plus for photos, it is better as castle entrance faces the east.
Extremely expensive to visit all the palaces and the student's discount is only 1€
This palace is worth a trip to Sintra. It is so romantic and beautiful. Take your time when looking at all the rooms and take in all the lovely details.
On top of Palácio da Pena & you're literally in the clouds
€12.50 for a 3 course meal with a drink & coffee in the 1st floor restaurant!
The palace wasn't that well when I visited it yesterday. The repair is on progress. They put a lot of shops and restaurants and it gets weird when you are just visiting a historical patrimony.
