There is no in-room coffee. I guess that is to support the olde world / European feel of the place? I thought coffee and free wi-fi were standard in the 21st century.
Love the pool and the Sidecars at the Pied Piper bar...
Filming location for many great ballroom scenes including the '62 thriller Experiments in Terror, Jade, Herbie Rides Again and most recently The Game
Stay here if you are SPG member, they take great care of platinum guests.
Great common spaces but the rooms are pretty staid, almost mundane.
Do Afternoon Tea in the restaurant!
If you are here for a conference or at least 4 hours, valet-park your car; the Palace's flat day rate is less expensive than area self-parks. See James in the penguin suit up front--he's your guy!
Great place to stop in and use the bathroom unnoticed!
$59 valet service. For the 1%.
Have brunch in The Garden Court. This was where horse-drawn carriages used to ride up to drop off their passengers. Also check out the famous “The Pied Piper of Hamelin” mural at the Pied Piper Bar.
If you want to plug in your electronics on a ground outlet, feel free. Not enough outlets in the room for today's technologies, max, 2 items to plug in , one on the floor.
Beautiful building. Reminds me of NY.
Don't leave without swimming in the indoor pool and jacuzzi
Book this place on Priceline for a better deal (4* class, SOMA district)
Debbie Lew (the concierge) is a gem. Extremely knowledgeable and willing to assist guests with every detail of their sight seeing.
The lobby is amazing. I truly enjoyed my stay at this historic landmark.
Stay at another starwood hotel if you are visiting SF. Nothing special and overpriced.
Did you know that US President Harding died at the Palace Hotel on August 2nd, 1923?
Try the Filet Salmon Risotto Limone (via @Foodspotting)
All is fine exept Wifi... A 5 * hotel which does not allow more than one wifi connection in a booked double room is not worth the 5th star!
2 of 3 treadmills broken - ugh!!
Welcome Charter Gala 2012 guests to the celebration of 144 years of the University of California &140 years of the Cal Alumni Association. A special congratulations to Alumnus of the Year Dr. Schmidt!
Go on the annual ghost walk tour during the Halloween season.
If you're hear for a conference and need a quiet spot, the "telephones" room, fl2 near meeting rooms is quiet
Sunday Brunch Crab salad <3
Hope you don't get a loud early riser for a neighbor here - otherwise, you will hear that 4am conference call loud and clear.
Get a high floor corner suite. It's super quiet at night and enough space to stretch out.
News to me: There's a full-service UPS store on the 2nd floor, where the conference rooms are.
Great hotel, staff, and location. Water pressure in the shower was phenomenal. Only complaint: lack of outlets by beds (for iPad and phone).
This hotel is beautiful. Have lunch in the Garden Court if you can.
The best place to get married or celebrate important events. The French Parlor is an elegant venue offering sophisticated dining and dance floor for a maximum of 90 guests.
Unfortunately the rooms are a bit run down and not as clean as you'd expect...
This is the place to schmooze....
Beautiful view from skylights on conference floor 2
Stayed here every year for the last 16+ years for the debutante ball. Beautiful hotel, very nice staff, garden court brunch is amazing but make reservations early. Indoor pool gym and spa great!
It's OK, but walls are very thin! I could hear my neighbours snoring
They now lock their restrooms :-(
This hotel is beautiful!! Beds are very comfortable & they even have robes! Also no coffee makers in the room BUT just ask & one will be brought up for free with lots if coffee, teas, cream & sugar!
Super thin walls. Bring earplugs for your stay. Parents with kids aren't considerate enough to stop them from running down the halls screaming at 8am.
No in-room coffee and none available downstairs until 6a. Not very east-coast-time-zone-stuck friendly.
Beautiful hotel and staff are exceptionally helpful
I heard good things but this place is way overpriced for the experience. Didn't feel "welcome" at all. Staff never says 'hi' even when you walk right by them. No coffee & $15 Wifi sucks too.
Great hotel, but no free internet.
The Garden Court is b.e.a.utiful. Feels like Vienna and they even play some quality Mozart.
Total elegance, do not second guess...
