Palazzo Vecchio has been the symbol of the civic power of Florence for over seven centuries. Among the works of art safeguarded in the museum: the Cortile di Michelozzo; Michelangelo’s celebrated Victory in the Salone dei Cinquecento; Donatello’s Judith in the Sala dei Gigli.
I was expecting this to be more impressive than it was. After seeing the best of Rome and Florence this didn't stand up. See it from the outside and maybe don't go in if you're pressed for time.
Gorgeous & and a 'must' visit when in Florence. Magnificent view from the Tower, climb it!
A great option for a sight to see in the evening. It stays open later than most other sights and offers a chance to see a lot of Vasari's works.
Very beautiful palace! Worth the visit!
Expect line at the tower.
Mediccio and history of Florence
A really cool architectural Palazzo, which is still home of local politics. The "hall of five hundred" and the tower are the best parts!
During summer it's open till 11pm. You can access the lower level of the tower from 9 to 11 for €2 more. The awesome views of the Duomo are absolutely worth it!
Palace of the Medici family once, it is a city hall nowadays. You can enter for free to the courtyards.

One of the very few museums that opens until midnight in Florence. Climb up the tower for a fantastic view of the duomo.
I recommend to visit it at the evening - there could be only a few people along with you, more time to spend, charming atmosphere, splendid views to evening Florence.
An exceptional place.

The best time to visit is in the evening. There is no people and it's less hot+ night and live music on the square are making awesome atmosphere.
This massive, Romanesque, crenellated fortress-palace is among the most impressive town halls of Tuscany. In front of the copy of David statue and the gallery of statues in adjacent Loggia dei Lanzi.
Contains only one work by Michelangelo, but almost contained a massive fresco, opposite another by Leonardo, neither of which were finished, unfortunately.
