Everyone always crowds the downstairs bar by the entrance. Upstairs typically has very little wait.
It's a great theatre with great venues and historic ambiance, however know that the seats are really tight and uncomfortable for large, tall people.
Great old cinema with a fantastic sound system. Saw the world premier of Furious 7 here.
I think whenever this theater originally opened, people were 6" shorter.

They show old school movies here and it's the best thing ever.

Summer classic film series is a must every year, and flix tix is the way to go. Seeing a Marx brothers film at a theater where the brothers actually performed is priceless.

Built in 1915, the Paramount, is home to Austin’s red carpet film premieres and is part of the SXSW and the Austin Film Festival. Including opener The Incredible Burt Wonderstone, & final The East.
The grande dame of Austin theatres is old, ornate, and awesome. Sit in the balcony for a better view of the ceiling mural, and don't forget a sweater – they like to crank the A/C.

Amazing show with David Ramirez and Noah Gunderson. $6 for a can of beer was a bit excessive.
The upstairs bathrooms are worth the trip
This is a great, historical and beautiful concert venue and movie theatre. It's a great concert space and during the summer I practically live here during the Summer Classic Film series. :)

The 1915 Vaudeville-era theater presents musicals, plays, comedians and musicians - both touring and homegrown. The Summer Classic Film Series is a great way to stay cool on hot summer nights.
Bring a inflatable seat doughnut. Worst chairs in any theater. But you gotta love 'em for their film selection.
Has 1,300 seats. You can be standing in a line around the corner to Brazos and still get in. For popular films don't leave gaps next to a person beside you to avoid people stepping over you.
